Today's review is
Firestorm from Justice League
This is the new and current
holder of the firestorm matrix, Jason Rausch. Will he be
better than his old clix counterpart?
He is a rookie (uncommon), 91
points, 8 range 2 targets, 7 clicks of life, a flier, and no
team
Special power – damage
Matter-Energy
Transmutation – If
he targets an object, instead of dealing damage, he can do 1
of 2 things. Either he can replace a heavy or special with
a light or heavy, or he can replace a heavy with a light and
then put another light adjacent to that object from outside
the game.
Speed: 3 of running shot is always nice, and phasing
isn’t bad
Attack: 8 to start….sigh, EE works good double
targeted at least
Defense: 18 may be common lately but it is still
tough to hit from range. If he gets based he is dead.
Barrier works good double targeted.
Damage: Nothing crazy, but perplex is always good,
and RCE comes in when damage blows
The Good: 8 range
2 targets
Lots of movement
Good power combos
Special power really
helps nanobot heavy teams
Perplex
The Bad: Damage is nothing special
Attack is sub-par, and
starts terribly
Won’t live long
I can see uses for the
power, but doesn’t seem worth the price jack
Feats: Don’t bother
Overall: Alright, I don’t need to tell you that this
guy sucks. The starting 8 attack is terrible. The power
can only be so useful, it turns that heavy damage that supes
is using into a light object…or puts 2 lights where a heavy
and special were for you. That is if you plan it like
that. He is a bad idea for a support piece that just costed
himself out of usability. Is he terrible….kinda. I just
don’t like him. I can see no reason for him to be played
except by the most hardcore Jason Rausch fans. Once again
Ronnie Raymond was better.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 1.5 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 1 / 5
Overall: 1.25 / 5
“Heroclix….they’re cool,
addictive, and available….the things practically sell
themselves.”
