Today's review is Martian
Manhunter from Origin
If you know who the JLA is,
then you know who he is.
I think the best of the three
is the Veteran
He is 218 points, 8 range 1
target, 10 clicks of life, a flier, no AE, and a JLA team
Speed:
Phasing, followed by HSS, RS, Charge, and Mind
Control…that’s a lot
Attack: Consistent values with combos that confuse
and anger me. HSS with Psy Blast? Running Shot with Super
Strength?
Defense: Super Senses, Imperv, Invuln, more SS, and
then toughness with a big spike at the end
Damage: Outwit and perplex, I like it, and always
dangerous with them values
The Good: High values for attack and damage
Lots of movement powers
A lot better than his
old Unique
Outwit and Perplex
The Bad: Awful power combinations
First click makes him a
sitting duck
Useless team ability for
that many points
Feats: Protected is an absolute must, and anything
else you want to throw around on him
Overall: This is a piece I was looking forward to
for a while but was still a little disappointed. For the
points, he just cannot hold a team on his own…none of his
versions really can. For theme teams in low points, go with
the rookie. In higher point games, go with this guy. I
hate when HSS comes on the second click. It works for KC
Supes because he is ridiculous…this guy is no KC Supes. He
isn’t bad, but just isn’t amazing, and for over 200 points
you need to be.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 2.5 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 2.5 / 5
Overall: 2.5 / 5
“Heroclix….they’re cool,
addictive, and available….the things practically sell
themselves.”
