Speed:
3 of charge aint bad, but a click of running shot would
have been nice
Attack: Charge and SS work great, values stay pretty
good
Defense: WOW, 2 of 18 with invuln for 100 points is
nuts, the values stay high the whole time
Damage: Always good and dangerous
The Good: Great movement, attack, defense, and
damage
Wildcard
8 Range is a nice
option
The Bad: Almost impossible to heal
Superman robot has HSS,
easily healed, Superman team, and same points
Feats: Besides the standards, nothing special
really applies, you need Protected to keep him on those 18
def clicks
Overall: Well, here is an interesting click. One
thing to look at first off is with an object, he can do 6
damage. That is almost unheard of for these points. Also,
his defense is crazy, and he can tie up an opponents team
whole not worrying about take little damage hits from chump
characters. He is not a hard piece to use, and there are no
real downsides to using him. Superman Robot I would say is
better, but since you do not have to order a magazine
subscription to use him, I really like this piece. This is
along the same ideas of Origin Unique superman, only this
piece is done right. I like him, I like him a lot. Also,
he is a wildcard, so that make shim even better. Watch out,
pieces with range will probably always get the first hit off
on him, and he can almost never be healed back to his best
clicks.

This time we check out Young Superman. I know
little more than you about him, probably: he’s good ol’
Supes in his early days as the man of steel, taken to the
future by the LoSH and helping them out. Because he’s young,
he hasn’t fully developed all of his powers. This is the
Rookie, costs exactly 100 points, has flight, no archenemy,
LoSH TA of course, 8 range 1 target and 7 clicks of health:
Stats:
Speed: 12, 10, 10, 10, 9, 8, 8. Charge for the first 3
clicks.
Attack: 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 8, 8. Super Strength for the first
5 clicks.
Defense: 18, 18, 17, 17, 17, 16, 16. First 2 clicks have
Invulnerability, then it’s Toughness all the way.
Damage: 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 2. No powers.
Analysis:
His Speed is good. Charge with those nice values are
likable, specially since he has Super Strength to grab an
object in his way and use it to up his already good damage.
Nice. His range allows him to attack from a good distance,
until you feel the time is right for him to go up to his
enemies and crush them with something.
His Attack is above average. Not because of higher than
usual values, but because it goes down really slow, and
that’s cool. Super Strength is good with Charge.
His Defense is what makes him special, I’d say. Two clicks
of Invulnerability for a 100 points guy is very rare. Add
the rest of Toughness and he won’t be taken out easily, if
you avoid (or take out) Outwitters.
Another thing you don’t usually see for 100 points is 18!
And it goes down very slowly, so he’ll be hard to hit.
Definitely, very sweet defense.
His Damage is good. Nothing fancy, no power, but high
damage… anything wrong with that?
Conclusion: He can be the center piece of a pretty good 300
point team.
Remember, he’s a wildcard, so try to take advantage of that.
Giving him
stealth with a Bat ally (perhaps the 47 point Batman?) makes
this guy really
hard to deal with. Giving him Supes TA, while might be not
as easy as giving
him Bats ally, makes him very dangerous too.
As for feats, keep it simple: ICWO to up his attack or give
him a nearly
un-hittable :P defense, and/or Protected to save him from
that lucky dice
roll… and I think I’d leave it there.
In a 500 points match, he’s probably awesome. Interesting
how a clix that is
so simple can be so powerful, huh?
Rating: 4/5.

Rookie Young Superman
wing speed
100 points
Team Ability: Legion of Super-Heroes
Keywords: "Legion of Super-Heroes" "Teen"
Range: 8 x 1
ANALYSIS:
He-Who-May-No-Longer-Be-Referred-To-As-Superboy boasts a
pretty super start to his dial with high-speed Charge and
high numbers for Defense and Damage in particular. His stats
hold pretty steady through his 7 clicks, too.
FEATS?
He doesn't need any. But putting SIDEKICK on him means a
50-point or cheaper comrade will get to share his nice 18 DV.
ETC.
"Young Superman?" Yeah. The heirs of the creators of
Superman successfully sued that while DC may own Superman,
they didn't own SuperBOY. Therefore DC can't use the name
anymore unless appeals go through.
Boy, is the "Teen" keyword going to have a lot of good
pieces.
IN SUM: He's a simple Charging flying brick wildcard.
Players who don't like seeing a "Superman" on the other team
just got a new piece to fear and loathe.
