STRENGTHS:
With either Psychic Blast or Pulse Wave all dial
long, Alex Luthor can deliver the hurt to bricks,
and his 8 range gives him opportunity. But his main
claim to glory is his "Manipulator" damage power
combining Outwit, Perplex and Shape Change: even if
you get through his opening Stealth, you may not be
able to attack and then he might Super Sense the
attack. Off that formidable first click he's got
"Earth 154 and 426" which allows him to basically
outwit BFCs. Nice.
His DV also gets a boost with Energy
Shield/Deflection. A run of Outwit fills out his
dial.
WEAKNESSES:
Neither his AV nor his damage are the best, and any
hit he takes is going to leave a mark. "E154+462"
won't help much if no BFCs are in play. He's not
very long-lived for his cost at all.
CARDS?
NANOBOTS is key to keep him at the top of his dial.
IN SUM:
Like all wildcards, he's about as good as the TAs he
can copy. But Alex REALLY needs them to shine at
all.
His role is as a backfield sniper and supporter to
more active fighters on the team, and at his cost it
might be tough to field the right ones in a standard
300-pointer. That first click is pretty good for
that role, though.
RATING: 2.5 of 5. Add a point if you can max out his
WC potential.
