During HeroClix's year-long dirtnap, many of the
coveted chase pieces because affordable for the
first time as panicky (or fatigued) collectors sold
off their collections. So now that some more of you
have these ultra-rare figures, what say you to a
series of Clix of the Day reviews?
We'll start with the game's first true chase pieces,
the Marvel zombies from the Supernova set of late
2006!
SPIDER-MAN
boot symbol
40 points
Team: none
Keywords: Monster
Range: 0
DIAL & CARD:
http://www.continuumedia.com/clix_cave/tb2/Unit.cfm?UnitID=sp220&UnitVersion=1&KeyDisplay=1
STRENGTHS:
Leap/Climb gives him lots of mobility, and Super
Senses makes him a hard target. Steal Energy on
click #2 and the whole back half of his dial make
him a dangerous tie-up piece...especially with
Plasticity, 10 attack value and Willpower.
WEAKNESSES:
On the other hand, low defense with Willpower on
that back half means he's an easy hit, and his low
speed means even Plasticity may not allow him to run
to safety. And Energy Explosion, with 0 range? Wha?
You *could* Perplex his range up to use it,
but...why?
CARDS TO CONSIDER:
LUNGE is OK for his early clicks.
IN SUM:
Good (and priced right) as a tie-up piece, but the
Mutations & Monsters Spider-Man is only 1 point more
costly and more than 1 point worthier. Better to
sell this zombie than play him. 2.5 of 5.
Be here next time for Colonel America.
