During HeroClix's year-long dirtnap, many of the
coveted chase pieces because affordable for the
first time as panicky (or fatigued) collectors sold
off their collections. So now that some more of you
have these ultra-rare figures, what say you to a
series of Clix of the Day reviews?
We'll start with the game's first true chase pieces,
the Marvel zombies from the Supernova set of late
2006!
Last time I covered the not-so-friendly
neighbor-chomping zombie Spider-Man. What about the
unliving legendary Super-Soldier...
COLONEL AMERICA
boot symbol
55 points
Team: none
Keywords: Monster
Range: 4 x 2
DIAL & CARD:
http://www.continuumedia.com/clix_cave/tb2/Unit.cfm?UnitID=sp221&UnitVersion=1&KeyDisplay=1
STRENGTHS:
The only Supernova zombie (and also one of the few
Monster-keyworded clix) with range, the Colonel
boasts a decent AV and damage. Click #2 starts the
usual run of Steal Energy, with #3 adding Exploit
Weakness to ensure a good taste of braaaaains. 9 AV
or better all dial is solid.
WEAKNESSES:
Slow Running Shot and low range isn't so good,
especially since running into adjacency with the
target isn't possible anymore. His defenses are soft
all dial long as well.
CARDS TO CONSIDER:
FORCE FIELD could give him a tiny bit of Toughness
to start, but then he's beginning to tip the
cost/benefit ratio somewhat badly.
IN SUM:
Only use him for themed play. Otherwise you're just
going to be disappointed by his overall weakness. 2
of 5.
Is he still the best at what he does even as an
alternate-universe zombie? Be here later this week
for Wolverine!
