During the HeroClix hiatus, prices plunged and many
were able to get formerly out-of-reach chase figures
on the cheap. We covered the first quartet of
ultra-rare chases, the Marvel Zombies of Supernova.
Now here's the first of the modern DC chases,

ALFRED PENNYWORTH

Team: Batman Ally
Keywords: Gotham City
Range: 4 x 1
DIAL & CARD:
http://www.continuumedia.com/clix_cave/tb2/Unit.cfm?UnitID=or214&UnitVersion=1&KeyDisplay=1
STRENGTHS:
Batman Ally and Perplex for your team on the
cheap...that's good for wild cards and more.
Back-end Support makes him pushable and yet useable.
Perfect for the solid Gotham City keyword.
WEAKNESSES:
Energy Explosion is an utter waste of points. Only
the one keyword.
CARDS TO CONSIDER:
Nothing. His low cost is his strength. But LONER is
great (if he's the only Gotham City figure on the
team, of course) to give him a little extra
protection.
IN SUM:
Perfect support piece that can fight in a pinch. 3.5
of 5.
Alfred ignited considerable nerd rage by being a key
member of the popular Batman mythos yet also one of
the single most difficult pieces to ever acquire.
Fortunately, a far less rare version appeared a year
later in the Batman Alpha set. Collectors' angst was
tested further still by the piece we'll look at next
time.
