Now that we've looked at The Horsemen of
Apocalypse, the pieces originally announced for
release in the Origins gaming convention, let's look
ahead to August's GenCon convention exclusives,
starting with:
MOONSTONE (#M-001)
wing symbol
135 points
Team: none
Keywords: Celebrity, Dark Avengers,
Thunderbolts
Range: 8 x 1
DIAL & CARD:

STRENGTHS:
It's all about her "Intangible Attack" trait,
allowing her to disregard walls and blocking terrain
for movement: she can Charge from behind walls. With
solid stats backing her up, that's pretty awesome!
Even without cover, though, she can contribute with
8 range and Outwit, using her Invulnerability to
weather enemy attacks.
Mid-dial, she switches to Running Shot and
Penetrating/Psychic Blast, making her trait even
more effective. Defensively, she swaps to
Mastermind. A couple of Perplex clicks help. She
wraps up with Pulse Wave and Energy
Shield/Deflection.
WEAKNESSES:
She's defensively soft after her opening
Invulnerability, which could be a problem given her
relatively short 7-click dial. Very weak against
tie-up at that point as well.
CARDS OR COMPANIONS TO CONSIDER:
She's really 143 points, because you're going to
want to use the 8-point THUNDERBOLTS ATA every time.
The YELLOW LANTERN object helps her mid-dial PB. She
qualifies for the OUTSMART feat for most of her
dial...use it.
IN SUM:
She's going to be highly useful for her trait and
Outwit, but she'll need friends to share the load
(and, later, the injury via Mastermind). Not quite
tough enough to lead a team but more than a mere
secondary attacker, Moonstone rates 3.5 of 5.
