Subject: 300 Point Ranged Destruction -
DrStrange86
Hey folks, this is the first team that I won a
tournament with. It basically abuses cheap pieces
with great range and movement. It was back in time
before Protected was even made. I also did not have
the Thunderbolts card at this point. It works
surprisingly well in the Armor Wars lab map.
V Hawkeye (FF) w/ ICWO + TS = 114
V Blackfire w/ ICWO = 86
V Lockjaw w/ ICWO + Double Time = 53
R Scarlet Witch (FF) = 35
E Paramedic = 10
Lian Harper x2 = 2
In the lab map, position the two attackers as
needed, leaving lockjaw to be harassment, taxi, and
attacker. Use the Transporter with Hawkeye and ICWO
the attack to run and shoot with a respectable 10
attack and run away behind hindering. Lockjaw can
carry blackfre and hide her from abuse for a while.
The next turn, push Lockjaw to run to a medic, and
let Blackfire attack with her long range and double
targets. The beauty behind this team is the fact
that Blackfire has 2 and Hawkeye has 3 targets,
almost guaranteeing a hit on some character if the
main attack misses. Scarlet Witch can help with
that as well. Lockjaw can then be healed and run
around and attack using the transporter to harrass
support pieces. I went 3-0 with this team and won 2
of those games outright.
In larger maps, you can pretty much play it the same
way, though you may need a turn to get everyone in
position to attack effectively.
In the game today, you can take out the trick shot
and paramedic (since she is retired) and save
yourself 30 points. With this, you can give
Thunderbolts to Hawkeye to give him Ultimates, then
use the remaining 25 points on whatever you want.
You could use it on a rookie Doc Mid Nite(pretty
much the cheapest medic now) and a 1 point pog.
Personally, I would put Nanobots on Hawkeye and
Lockjaw, since both of them are off 3 damage after 1
click. Then, use Lockjaw to carry your three
remaining points of 1 point pogs to tie up pieces,
allowing blackfire to take pop shots. The Debris
battlefield works great for this, because the more
items out there, the more healing and more pushing
you can do.
Well folks that's it for today, if you have any
questions, drop me a line [batmandx@aol.com].
