Hello Pojo Fans,
Hi-Speedroid Glider #2 is the only Speedroid Synchro we’ll review this week.
Level 5 Synchro that requires a WIND Machine Tuner, Glider #2 is likely your second Synchro to summon out because of its effect upon Synchro Summon: Special Summon a Level 7 or lower WIND non-Tuner Synchro Monster. There are a lot of options for you to summon previously that can be Special Summoned from the grave using Glider #2, but you are likely staying within the archetype. Glider #2 is a Tuner so you could go as high as a Level 12 with this and the summoned monster: Crystal Clear Wing Over Synchro Dragon (Friday’s CoTD).
While in the graveyard, Glider #2 can banish itself to increase all Levels of your opponent’s monsters by 5. This effect is made for Clear Wing Synchro Dragon’s negation effects, ensuring that anything that has a Level on the field that your opponent controls will be within negation range. The boss monsters won’t need to be raised, but the smaller monsters that activate effects multiple times while on the field are now available to be negated by Clear Wing Synchro Dragon. Other than that, this ability can make it tough for archetypes that Synchro or Xyz Summon a lot (Ryzeal, White Forest, Tenpai).
Easy Level 5 Synchro the archetype can summon and one that immediately can put you into position of summoning one of your big boss monsters (as long as you summoned a Level 7 WIND non-Tuner Synchro Monster first). The Level adjust can help with your Clear Wing Synchro Dragon’s negation power, but could be a good counter measure to a few of the popular archetypes currently in the meta.

We leave the Pendulums behind and start to look at what Speedroids are known for, their Synchros, so mid-week gives us a new Synchro Tuner in the form of Hi-Speedroid Glider #2.
Glider #2 is a Level 5 WIND Machine Synchro Tuner with 1600 ATK and 2200 DEF. Solid DEF stat, WIND Machine is fine in Speedroid, who appreciates a second Synchro Tuner. Materials are any WIND Machine Tuner and any non-Tuner(s), so trying to be Speedroid specific here. If this card is Synchro Summoned, you can target and summon any Level 7 or lower non-Tuner Synchro from your graveyard, which works when you use Clear Wing Synchro Dragon to go into Crystal Wing or Crystal Clear Wing and then have this revive it to go into a Level 12. If your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) and you control a Clear Wing monster (except in the Damage Step), you can banish this card from the graveyard to increase the Levels of all monsters the opponent controls by 5, which both disrupts the opponent from Synchro and Xyz plays while also making your Clear Wing Synchro Dragon able to use its negates on monsters who are normally Level 4 or lower. HOPT on both effects, Glider #2 is a good extender for your Deck to summon your big Synchro monsters while also having an interesting Level increase effect that can mess with the opponent’s plays and make base Clear Wing more useful. Worth running a copy of this for Speedroids.

You can’t have Speedroid support without a Tuner Synchro monster, and that brings us to today’s card, Hi-Speedroid Glider #2. A level 5 WIND Machine Synchro Tuner monster, it’ll take any WIND Machine Tuner and any number of non-Tuners, so Speedroid should have an easy time making it. Being level 5 is also the perfect complement to making Speedroid’s new boss monster combined with Clear Wing Synchro Dragon– more on that later! Statwise, again we have a mediocre spread due to being a Tuner, with only 1600 attack and 2200 defense.
Glider apparently missed the Accel Synchro train, because neither of its 2 hard once per turn effects involve Synchro Summoning during your opponent’s turn. Its first effect triggers if it’s Synchro Summoned, letting you Special Summon a level 7 or lower WIND non-Tuner Synchro monster from your Graveyard. This effect has a single purpose: revive Clear Wing Synchro Dragon and immediately go into the new Clear Wing boss monster, which happens to be a level 12 Synchro that requires a Clear Wing as material. You can technically revive other Speedroid Synchros, but you almost never will since they will rarely be more useful than fielding the new boss if you have the chance. The other effect can be triggered if your opponent Special Summons a monster while you control a Clear Wing monster, letting you banish Glider from your Graveyard to increase the levels of all monsters your opponent controls by 5, which I can only assume is a reference to something Yugo did in Arc-V. It’s pretty random and a very niche disruption, but when it’s relevant, it can be a real killer; Xyz and Synchro decks can have their combos completely screwed over. After all, Ryzeal doesn’t exactly run Rank 9 monsters on a regular basis. Decks consisting of the other Extra Deck types will be largely unphased– in fact, this could end up helping decks like Branded by conveniently giving them high-level Fusion fodder, but you should have enough common sense to not use Glider. Glider’s main issue is that it’s definitely a card you use later in your combo, so you’ll have to carefully weave it into your combos after using Clear Wing Synchro Dragon as a material. The best time to summon it is after you Synchro Summon using a Clear Wing you cheated out with Speedroid Wing Synchron, since again, that will immediately set up the new boss monster. Overall a very simple card, but it does what it wants to do well.
+Easily sets up Crystal Clear Wing Synchro Over Dragon
+Banish effect can severely hamper some Synchro and Xyz decks
-Has to be summoned after using up a Clear Wing Synchro Dragon to use it correctly
-Banish effect is useless against many decks

Art: 3.5/5 I was about to give it a 2.5 because I thought it was just a green plane, but then I noticed the tiny Clear Wing guy on it.
