Hyper Blaze
– #SDSA-EN034
To Special Summon “Uria, Lord of Searing Flames” using its own procedure, you can also use face-down Traps you control. Once per battle, when an attack is declared involving your “Uria, Lord of Searing Flames”: You can send 1 Trap from your hand or Deck to the GY; its ATK/DEF become the number of face-up Traps on the field and in the GYs x 1000, for the rest of this turn. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; add to your hand or Special Summon, 1 “Uria, Lord of Searing Flames”, “Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder”, or “Raviel, Lord of Phantasms” from your GY, ignoring its Summoning conditions.

King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Hyper Blaze is the only Sacred Beast trap we’re reviewing this week. Cerulean Skyfire for Uria, being a Continuous Trap like Skyfire was a Continuous Spell fits with Uria. Deck thin ability once per battle and pumps up your Uria using all face-up traps on the field and in the graveyards. That is BOTH fields and BOTH graveyards and ANY traps. Strike, Judgment, Warning, Impermanence, they are all counted towards Uria for the turn and 1000ATK/DEF a piece makes this a card to use to OTK with Uria. You attack with Uria, activate Hyper Blaze, get a trap from the deck to the grave and then pump your Uria up for every Trap in the graves and on the field. You are getting a 2000ATK/DEF boost at minimum, but this card is meant to be a finisher. Doubling as a Special Summon option for any Sacred Beast from your grave makes it even better. You can discard your Sacred Beast for the cost and Special Summon it, that is something this archetype needed! If Uria gets negated it was always screwed because it has 0ATK/0DEF, but Hyper Blaze ensures you will have ATK/DEF. This is was Cerulean Skyfire should have been like for Hamon. Uria has always been the weakest of the Sacred Beasts in terms of ATK/DEF, so it needed some good help and Hyper Blaze is it. It helps Uria a TON and on its own it can help any of your Sacred Beasts, I’d run this over Cerulean Skyfire. Advanced-3.5/5 Art-4.5/5 Until Next Time |
Crunch$G From Hamon’s attack we get to Uria’s: Hyper Blaze. Hyper Blaze is a Continuous Trap that gives a similar summoning procedure cheat to Uria just like yesterday’s card did for Hamon, only this time using face-down Traps since Uria likes using Traps. Once per battle, when an attack is declared involving your Uria, you can send a Trap from hand or Deck to the graveyard to have Uria’s ATK and DEF become equal to the number of face-up Traps on the field and in the graveyards times 1000, which is better than Uria’s actual effect where it only gains 1000 ATK per Continuous Trap in your graveyard, so it gets a better boost that matches the anime counterpart more. Lastly, you can discard a card to revive any of the 3 Sacred Beasts from the graveyard, ignoring the summoning conditions. You do have to properly summon them first as the ruling goes I believe, but it’s nice to get an easy way to revive any of your 3 big boss monsters and I appreciate it’s not exclusive to Uria. It keeps the Sacred Beasts coming back with their big stats, unless your low on Traps for Uria. This is a fine card to support Uria, but it doesn’t compare to Hamon’s support card yesterday. It’s fine to have a copy for your Uria, but almost pointless if you’re opting to pass on playing Uria in general, but makes Uria-centric Decks more fun I guess. Advanced Rating: 3/5 Art: 5/5 Guess I’m a fan of the blazing blast from Uria a little more. |
