Ib the World Chalice Justiciar is a Synchro monster that shows signs of being widely used like Denlong.

Generic stats and requirements, as well as it being WATER, seemingly preventing any LIGHT-based support abuse, Ib can use any World Chalice Normal monster as a Tuner, making her ridiculously easy to summon that way. RoTA for a World Legacy card, ANY World Legacy card. While amazing for the archetype, others will be using her as a way to get to Succession as a Monster Reborn. With more Orcust coming out, Ib lends her support to searching out their power spell/traps to amp up field presence. When Ib is send to the grave from the field while having been Synchro Summoned she becomes a Monster Reborn for any World Chalice monster, namely the Link monsters you’ve used previous her like her other version, as well as Ningirsu.

It isn’t so much the fact that she can search a ton of support cards, or how she can summon a great deal of the archetype cards as a Synchro Summon monster, it’s the ease at how she can be used within other archetypes to gain advantage. If you run a Tuner, you can likely make her. You can run one Succession and get a Monster Reborn off her. Then, if you’ve used a World Chalice Link already, you can get one back by using Ib as link material for another Link Summon. Even if you are using her as a solitary Succession searcher, you are setting up for a Link 2 at the very least, and honestly it should be a Link 3 or more. The ease of summoning Mekk-Knight Crusadia Avramax with this card makes her a terror to come across.

Limiting her isn’t going to help, as most only run one of her, and she isn’t broken enough yet to warrant a ban, so we’ll be seeing her for a while I predict.

Next up in the week is a new Synchro for the World Chalice archetype, Ib the World Chalice Justicar.

Ib is a Level 5 WATER Spellcaster Synchro Tuner with 1800 ATK and 2100 DEF. Stats are fine on a Level 5, which is a decent level for a Synchro Tuner, WATER is ok here, and Spellcaster is solid. The summoning requirements are any 1 Tuner and any 1+ non-Tuners, which generic Synchros are always fun. For this card’s Synchro Summon, you can use a World Chalice Normal Monster as the Tuner, which is good considering World Chalice as an archetype has exactly zero Tuners, but you don’t have to play this in just World Chalice. Ib has two effects that are both hard once per turns. First off, upon this card being Synchro Summoned, you can search for any World Legacy card. Amazing honestly considering you got a Monster Reborn as an option here. World Legacy Guardragon is a great search as well in Dragon variants that can fit this in there. There are a ton of options to search and it will take way too long to list them all off and what they do. The other effect of Ib is that if this Synchro Summoned card is sent to the graveyard from the field, you can Special Summon any World Chalice monster from your deck or graveyard except another one of this. In said Dragon decks, you got World Chalice Guardragon for your Guardragon plays, but other decks can just throw in some random World Legacy monster if you want that summon so bad, even if it’ll be a brick if you draw it. Ib’s combo potential reminds me of Denglong, it can allow for some very powerful stuff. If you want to experiment with this, there are several decks that will benefit somewhat from what Ib can offer, especially with the TCG not having Denglong at all.

Art: 5/5 Ib is very pretty, glad to see her better again in the lore. Love the background as well.

Ib the World Chalice Justiciar is our card today.  This is a Level 5 Synchro Monster, meaning about no material is required.  She is a Water attributed, Spellcaster, who is also a Tuner (which is always an added bonus) with 1800 attack and 2100 defense.  She requires simply a Tuner and non-Tuner for a Synchro Summon, and the stats aren’t great (but could be worse) for a Level 5.

So, first we note that despite Level 5s being so easy to Synchro, there’s an added benefit where you can make a World Chalice Normal Monster you control be a Tuner to perform a Synchro Summon of Ib.  Like yesterday, we have two once per turn effects attached to this card.  First, if Synchro Summoned, you get a theme card from your Deck to your Hand.

That’s a beautiful effect, anything that lets you search anything in its own theme for free like that is something you need to use and abuse as much as you can.  Next, if Synchro Summoned and sent to the Graveyard (no stipulation as to how or by whom) you get to Special Summon a theme Monster from the Deck or Graveyard (other than Ib).  Replacing is always a good thing too, she’s a great theme card, and even beyond.

Rating:  4.75/5  If she were stronger, I’d probably have gone 5/5 for what she does in and out of her own theme, but that helps add balance.

Art:  5/5  Again, much like yesterday, I’m very in love with this picture, and no nightmares from this.  She doesn’t seem to actually have a chalice though.  Definitely get the Spellcaster feel, as well as a Water vibe.
