King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Infinitrack week on Pojo and we’re starting it with Infinitrack Anchor Drill. Anchor Drill is one of two monsters within the archetype that doesn’t require a tribute. Anchor Drill solves that problem when you Normal or Special Summon it. Any EARTH Machine monster can be Special Summoned from your hand in defense, giving you an instant Extra Deck summon of your choice. Using Anchor Drill’s second effect gives you an Xyz summon as long as you have that Rank in your Extra Deck. Combining the levels can bottleneck your plays depending on what Xyz you are going for. Within the archetype there is a Rank 5, 7, and 9, and with Anchor Drill as a Level 4, you will need to mix and match with other Machine monsters you will run from outside the archetype, which there are plenty. Mix and match how you like, or run a dedicated archetype, this card is great for it as well as a tech into any EARTH Machine strategy. Advanced-5/5 Art-4/5 Until Next Time |
WarlockBlitz Infinitrack Anchor Drill starts off Infinitrack week. It’s a Level 4 Earth Machine-type monster with 1800 Atk and 500 Def. This is both support by and support for Earth Machines, so that is necessary. 1800 Atk is where I like Level 4 monsters, especially ones with an on summon effect. Upon Normal or Special Summon, you get to Special Summon any Earth Machine-type monster from your hand in def position. No neutered effects and no restriction on getting another copy of itself. It is once per turn, but that is not so bad a thing as your hand is not infinite. The second once per turn effect is to target any other Machine (doesn’t have to be Earth) you control to have the target and Infinitrack Anchor Drill become the combined Levels of the two monsters. This helps all things XYZ, even in Train decks. It may be once per turn as well, but it’s definitely a 3-of because you want this in your opening hand to really push fast on the combo plays. Score: 4/5 Art: 4/5 Green ranger zord? |
Crunch$G Infinitrack week comes to Pojo as we finally take a dive into The Infinity Chasers and to start this all off, we have Infinitrack Anchor Drill. Anchor Drill is a Level 4 EARTH Machine with 1800 ATK and 500 DEF. ATK is great and DEF makes it searchable off Ancient Gear Box since it is an EARTH Machine as well as already being searchable off Gear Gigant X since it is Level 4. EARTH and Machine make a good combination as well. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned, you can Special Summon any EARTH Machine from your hand in Defense Position excluding another Anchor Drill. Doesn’t net a plus but it does extend plays, which is always good, especially in this Xyz based archetype where you’d want monsters on the field to overlay. The second effect helps with Xyz Summoning as you can target another Machine you control and this card and that monster’s levels become equal to the combined level of the both of them, which helps for some higher Rank Xyz plays like getting into 7s, 8s, or 9s as those Ranks have good pools of monsters to summon, even Ranks 5 and 6 as well. Each effect of Anchor Drill is a hard once per turn as it probably should be, but this card really helps extend your plays in a plethora of EARTH Machine based decks and helps you summon Xyz Monsters you otherwise might of not been able to summon, so I’d say it’s a three of in several different EARTH Machine decks. Advanced Rating: 4.25/5 Art: 3.75/5 I like the colors, but it is still a simple drill. |
Alex Searcy Welcome to Infinitrack week on Pojo CotD! Kicking things off is Infinitrack Anchor Drill. Our Machine friend here is Level 4 with a solid 1800 attack and not so great 500 defense. So, we first see a Normal or Special Summon of this card nets you a Special Summon of an Earth/Machine from your Hand, in Defense position. Combos anyone? This opens the door for Link and XYZ plays, at the very least. But if that isn’t enough, by targeting another Machine you control, you can make this Monster and the selected Monster become the total Level of the two Monsters. That’s insane, even just at 4 each, that opens up Rank 8 XYZ, and can go much higher based on whatever you happen to have on the Field at the time. There’s plenty of big, high Rank plays to play into. Cybernetic Fortress Dragon, Machina Blaster, Number 25: Force Focus, Gear Gigant X, Superdimensional Robot Galaxy Destroyer, Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max, as well as Juggernaut Liebe…so many possibilities to ease in bringing out these Monsters. Each effect is once per turn, but being able to bring out too many high Level and kick ass XYZ Monsters in a turn isn’t good, so this one makes sense. Rating: 4/5 Art: 4/5 It is a mechanical drill. Nothing very extravagant going on here, but the color on display is nice. |
