KONAMI revealed today that two new Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) booster set releases will make their debut in June and July.
On June 21st, Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge will storm into stores. This new booster set dives deep into the lore of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s beloved Duel Terminal world. Fiendish Infernoids, mighty Ritual Beasts, the tribes of the “Ice Barrier,” and even the diminutive droid Genex Controller make their return, with powerful new cards that bring each into the modern era of Dueling! You’ll find new support cards for all four themes, plus powerful new versions of other familiar monsters, long-awaited foil upgrades, and handy reprints of coveted tournament cards.
On July 19th, The Infinite Forbidden arrives in stores and it will explore the legacy of Dueling’s most powerful force: Exodia! The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s next 101-card booster set puts Exodia the Forbidden One front and center, introducing a stunning new Fusion Monster you’ll Summon by showing all 5 pieces of Exodia from your hand, field, or Deck.
In addition, KONAMI is proud to welcome invited Duelists to WCQ tournaments (WCQ) in North America, Central America, and South America this Summer. THE SEASON OF CHAMPIONSHIPS IS APPROACHING IN THE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME!
Hawthorne, Calif. (June 11, 2024) – It all comes down to this! The Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) is ramping up, as we count down the days to the World Championship Qualifiers. Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is proud to welcome invited Duelists to WCQ tournaments (WCQ) in North America, Central America, and South America this Summer. Thousands of qualified contenders will gather at these 3 events to compete for a seat at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2024, held in Seattle this September. A landmark event, it’s the first Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship hosted on American soil in over 8 years.
But before we get there, new cards and new Deck themes will shift the Dueling landscape! Two new booster set releases will make their debut in June and July: one that dives deep into the lore of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s beloved Duel Terminal world; and one that goes even further, all the way to the very beginning of the story, to explore the legacy of Dueling’s most powerful force: Exodia! Together these two releases will make an earthshaking impact, so get ready to dig deep, design new Decks, and most of all – OBLITERATE your opponents!
Your favorite themes from the Duel Terminal series are back like never before, in Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge.
“Ice Barrier” Duelists, get ready for a new Synchro Monster like none before it! Clocking in at Level 10, this new ancestral dragon lets you Special Summon an “Ice Barrier” monster from your hand, Deck, Extra Deck, or Graveyard anytime your opponent Special Summons, and it works up to twice per turn! Call forth the right “Ice Barrier” monsters and freeze your opponent in their tracks. And if they ever manage to send this massive Dragon to the Graveyard, you’ll Special Summon an Ice Barrier Synchro Monster from your Extra Deck to take its place! Look out for Brionac, the Magical Ice Dragon, capable of returning cards from any side of the field to the hand.
Genex Controller is ready for action, returning as a Link 1 Monster you can Summon using any Level 4 or lower “Genex” monster. When it hits the field, you can get back a “Genex” monster from your Graveyard, and once per Chain whenever a “Genex” monster’s added to your hand, you can Normal Summon another “Genex.” Combo it with classic cards like Genex Undine and Genex Ally Birdman to build huge combos and flood the field! What’s the end game? A brand-new Level 10 DARK Machine-type Synchro with 3100 ATK! Summon it and you’ll negate your opponent’s monster effects, destroy their monsters, and return your banished monsters to your Deck to demolish your opponent’s Spells and Traps!
A brand-new Fusion Monster slithers forth for Infernoids! Infernoid Tierra from Clash of Rebellions was a Level 11 Fusion, but this new Fiend-type sneaks in at Level 1. That means you can Summon it by fusing any two “Infernoid” Fusion Materials or bring it out with Instant Fusion! Fusion Summon it, and you can banish an Infernoid monster of any Level from your Graveyard, to send any number of Infernoids from your Deck to the Graveyard with total Levels equal to the one you banished. And if the Level 1 Fusion is sent to the Graveyard or banished, you can add a “Void” Spell or Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. That means if you use it as Link Material for Infernoid’s new Link 4 you’ll trigger that effect! The new Link Monster can negate your opponent’s Special Summons, banish cards from the field when cards are banished from your Graveyard, and replace itself with another Infernoid from your Deck if it’s ever destroyed.
The “Ritual Beast” family grows bigger! Ritual Beasts get new allies in Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge, starting with Spiritual Beast Beast Tamer Lara. A Level 1 version of the original Ritual Beast Tamer Lara from The Secret Forces, you can discard her to Normal Summon a Ritual Beast from your hand. Then, if one of your Ritual Beasts would be destroyed, banish her from your field or Graveyard to keep the Ritual Beast safe! And when this version of Lara is banished, you can Special Summon another Ritual Beast monster from your Deck. Next, protect your other Ritual Beasts from card effects that target by Summoning a new “Ritual Beast” Fusion Monster; you can return it to your Extra Deck to Special Summon back a banished Ritual Beast. Even better, a new “Ritual Beast“ Link 4 keeps players from Tributing cards to activate card effects, retrieves your banished Ritual Beast cards, and immediately Normal Summons a Ritual Beast Monster from your hand. It can even banish an opposing card at Quick Effect speed, on your opponent’s turn!
On top of those 4 themes, Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge features a brand-new Blue-Eyes Fusion Monster, fusing Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon or 3 “Blue-Eyes” monsters, with a “Chaos” or “Black Luster Soldier” Ritual Monster! Dominate the Duel with this behemoth’s 5000 ATK. Negate and destroy your opponent’s cards, up to 3 times per turn! And if your opponent forces this engine of destruction off the field in any way, you’ll Special Summon a “Blue-Eyes” monster, or a “Chaos” or “Black Luster Soldier” Ritual Monster! If that wasn’t enough, Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge is loaded with foil upgrades of fan-favorite cards, plus powerful tournament reprints to improve your Deck.
The epic comebacks begin on June 21 when Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge storms into stores! The complete set includes a total of 118 cards: 69 Ultra Rares and 46 Secret Rares. 22 cards also come as Quarter Century Secret Rare variants and 3 cards are only available as Quarter Century Secret Rares! Each pack contains 4 Ultra Rare cards and 1 Secret Rare. MSRP $4.49 per 5-card pack.
A new incarnation of Exodia leads the charge in The Infinite Forbidden! The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG’s next 101-card booster set puts Exodia the Forbidden One front and center, introducing a stunning new Fusion Monster you’ll Summon by showing all 5 pieces of Exodia from your hand, field, or Deck. Immune to destruction by your opponent’s card effects, this new Exodia can negate opposing Spell and Trap Card activations once per turn, and in the End Phase you can Set a themed Spell or Trap Card straight from your Deck. Best of all, once per turn when it battles, this new Exodia gains ATK equal to your current Life Points. Power it up even further with a Spell Card that can demolish your opponent’s defenses and equip it with “Forbidden One” monsters to strengthen it by 10,000 Attack Points. Unleash the obliteration and win the Duel with one huge punch!
Want something more modern? Prepare for a fiendish strategy that can negate the effects of all your opponent’s best cards! This theme’s key monster is a Level 6 LIGHT Fiend-type. It’s nothing special on its own, but you can discard it from your hand to add one of the theme’s Spell or Trap Cards from your Deck to your hand. From there, you’ll use a series of monster effects and Spell and Trap Cards to continually revive this devil-may-care antihero, and Special Summon more copies. Climb through a series of Link Summons and Fusion Summons and you’ll eventually arrive at this monster’s ultimate form: a Level 9 Fusion Monster with 2800 ATK, a vengeful ability that picks apart your opponent’s field when it’s sent to the Graveyard, and best of all – a Quick Effect that can negate the effects of multiple cards all at once!
The “Sinful Spoils” story continues. A new circle of small-sized Spellcasters make their debut, working together to craft impressive Synchro Summons. The little Level 2 non-Tuners and Level 4 Tuners have unique effects when you send a Spell or Trap Card from your hand or field to the Graveyard: Special Summon one from your hand and add another monster from the theme to your hand; Special Summon a companion from your Deck; or even just draw a card! You can pay the costs by using cards placed into your Spell and Trap Zone by the effects of “Snake-Eye” cards. Or use special Spell Cards for the theme: each has an effect of its own, but they share a secondary effect that lets you Set them straight to your field if they’re sent to the Graveyard to activate your monster effects.
Rally your petite party and assemble your Synchro Summons! This theme’s first Level 6 Synchro will let you trade Spells and Traps from your field or hand to look for more cards from the theme to add from your Deck to your hand. It can also boost your Synchro Monsters by 500 ATK and keep them safe from your opponent’s effects. Another Level 6 Synchro can Set all your opponent’s monsters, buff your Synchros by 500 ATK, and give them double piercing damage to steal quick wins! Finally, these woodsy witches can also Synchro Summon a Level 8 Illusion-type Synchro Monster. The moment it’s Synchro Summoned you can retrieve a Spell or Trap Card from your Graveyard, and from there you’ll send off Spells and Traps from your hand or field to spark more Special Summons. Flood the field with magical forces, strengthen your Synchros, and strike through defenders to win the Duel!
“Gimmick Puppets,” “Drytron,” “Millennium” monsters, and new themes from Legacy of Destruction all get new support in The Infinite Forbidden! You’ll even find a brand-new strategy with a new take on classic cards like Dark Magician and Mirror Force!
Get ready to obliterate opponents on July 19, when The Infinite Forbidden arrives in stores! The complete booster set includes 50 Commons, 26 Super Rares, 14 Ultra Rares and 10 Secret Rares. 24 cards also appear as Quarter Century Secret Rares, and 1 additional card is available only as a Quarter Century Secret Rare! MSRP $4.49 per 9-card pack.
Duelists can get their hands on The Infinite Forbidden even earlier at a Premiere! Event hosted at participating KONAMI Official Tournament Stores the weekend of July 13 or 14.
