Saikyo Cardfighter R So on Friday, we can finally move on from 2 decks in Standard to 4 and actually have some decent fucking variety. Talking of which, variety is not exactly what the new King of Knights offers. For CB1 he only calls Blaster Blade, although the extra 5k boost is nice. Putting power in the center is also nice, but in this age of higher shield and a time of simpler play, this won’t be especially relevant except as a means to hit numbers without committing to a booster, or just giving an excuse to put the Force Gift elsewhere. Not especially game-breaking, calling only one thing and just powering up, which is good, because if this could call anything, the bullshit levels in Premium would be unacceptable. 3/5 |
What’s up, Rogue Squad?! Now that the sneak peek has passed, our Standard format has now doubled the amount of legal decks with the debut of Nova Grapplers and OTT, but we’ll get to those later. This week, we’re going to have a look at the four VR’s of the set, and for today, we get to look at the King of Knights. This new Alfred is all about making sure there’s a solid field and constant power with the combination of the Force Markers along with calling a Blaster Blade from Deck with an extra 5k boost. Also, if Blaster Blade is omnipresent the field, then Alfred gets a +10k boost himself, and since his skill to call a Blaster Blade is an ACT, then that means they both will have a solid amount of time with sufficient power, but the synergy dies down once all of the Blaster Blades are gone. However, in Premium, this becomes a really solid synergy card with Exceed especially with Blaster Llew to recycle them. KoK Alfred is a really good card for the deck, but it’s got a timer to keep an eye on. Standard: 3/5 Premium: 3.5/5 Artwork: 3/5 Next Time: Time for Perfection…self-proclaimed… Go Rogue…Go Pro…and Fight the Meta!!! |
