Hello Pojo Fans,

Linkross, while banned now (thank goodness) gets the silver medal in our countdown, taking the #2 spot.

Degenerate counter-producing Link Monster, Linkross needs to be made using a Link Monster and it has to be Link-2 or higher. Tokens equal to the Link Rating of the monster you used for its summon. The higher the Link Rating, the more tokens you get. Think about it like this: Summon and use Saryuja Skull Dread, then go into Linkross, you will have at least one card in your hand, Linkross, and four tokens. The only real downside to Linkross is that it has to be Link Summoned to get that token-producing effect. It’s hard to understand why it was created or why it was in the TCG for so long considering cards like Linkross get banned pretty quickly. It was a staple when it wasn’t banned as long as you could Link Summon a Link-2.

A card from the year that got banned was a easy candidate for the Top 10 this year, especially at a high spot like number 2. From Eternity Code we have Linkross.

Linkross is a Link-1 LIGHT Cyberse with 900 ATK and a downward arrow. ATK works for Link-1 I guess, LIGHT and Cyberse is great, and that arrow is perfectly fine. The summon requirement is any Link-2 or higher Monster, which is easy to do. Upon being Link Summoned, you can activate this effect to summon Link Tokens (Cyberse/LIGHT/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) equal to the Link Rating of this card’s Link Material. You can’t use those Link Tokens for Link Material, but it’s easy Synchro Material, especially using this with a Crystron Halqifibrax or Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights to summon a Tuner from Deck to get an easy Synchro to go into some insane combos. It got a little absurd with so many Decks using the same combo with Halq to end on the same boards, and it was so easy to do, so you had to ban this. Even if you banned Halq, you could justify keeping this banned for the combos it enables. It’s too strong of a card, Tokens have become too powerful since Master Rule 4.

This is another fairly short, easy review, despite my also omitting this from my list.  This is a Link 1 Monster, Light/Cyberese, with 900 attack and an arrow pointing directly down who needs any Link 2 or higher Monster to be Link Summoned.  Link Summoning this card gives you Link Tokens.  Specifically, equal to the number of the Link rating you used of the Monster to Link Summon this card.  They can’t be used for Link Summon the turn they hit the Field.  However, they can be used for anything else.  Tributes, costs, Extra Deck plays…whatever you need at the time.  Anything this easy to bring out that can generate multiple free Tokens is amazing and I love how the Link restriction doesn’t apply to this card itself.  Like a lot of smaller cards, specifically Links, it’s not so much what IT does, but what it can set you up to do.
