Lunalight Sabre Dancer is a Level 9 Dark Beast-Warrior type Fusion Monster with 3000 Atk and 2600 Def. Requiring any 3 Lunalight monsters is different from previous Lunalight Fusions and would have been more flexible if it hadn’t said that she can only be summoned by Fusion Summon. Still 3000 Atk by giving up 4 cards would normally be bad, but Lunalights mitigate the cost by having effects in the grave. Speacking of which, Sabre Dancer here can banish  herself from the grave to give 3000 Atk to any targeted Fusion Monster. This would be great with Lunalight Fusion sending a monster from the Extra Deck as Fusion Material, but the effect can’t be used the turn she is sent to the grave. Bummer. On the field, she gains 200 Atk per Beast-Warrior in either grave or banished. Done properly this is minimum 3600 Atk (and maximum 32,600 Atk). Add to that that she can’t be targeted and we’re looking at an excellent boss monster. Lunalight Sabre Dancer isn’t as protected as yesterday’s card, but is definitely worth running at 2. She also has a little more utility because her grave effect can target any Fusion Monster. Happy Friday!

We end the week off and Legendary Duelists month off with the newest Lunalight Fusion, Lunalight Sabre Dancer.

Sabre Dancer is a Level 9 DARK Beast-Warrior Fusion with 3000 ATK and 2600 DEF. Stats are pretty good to me, and I’ve said before how good being a DARK and Beast-Warrior is. The Fusion Materials for this are any 3 Lunalight monsters and it must be Fusion Summoned, which getting to 3 Lunalights isn’t hard in a Lunalight deck, and it is nice that it doesn’t require any certain Fusion Monsters, though isn’t a required material for any Fusions either. Sabre Dancer gains 200 ATK for each Beast-Warrior monster that is banished or in the GYs. This will probably be 3600 upon its summon, but it can easily get above 4000 ATK. Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects, which is something I like to see on a Fusion that needs 3 materials, though I’m fine without the effect destruction protection that Leo Dancer had because Leo Dancer did require a much bigger investment to summon or more specific cards. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the GY, you can banish it from the GY to target a Fusion Monster you control and it gains 3000 ATK for the turn. This is terrifying on either Panther Dancer or Leo Dancer since Panther Dancer can attack all monsters your opponent controls twice each (protects said monsters from destruction in battle first time around) while Leo Dancer can just make two attacks and destroys your opponent’s Special Summoned monsters, and all that with 2800 and 3500 bodies respectively then adding this on here to make 5800 and 6500 should mean you OTK your opponent. This is easy to get in the GY as well with Lunalight Fusion probably fusing a Cat Dancer you control with this in the Extra Deck for Panther Dancer or Panther Dancer you control, a Lunalight in your hand/field, and this in the Extra Deck for Leo Dancer. Not being able to use this the turn it is sent to the GY is fine considering I guess they don’t want you OTKing your opponent too fast. Sabre Dancer is a good Fusion to summon as well as a good card to send off Lunalight Fusion, so having a copy or two in the Extra Deck is fine. Take note this boosts any Fusion Monster if you somehow find a use for this in other Fusion decks.

Advanced Rating: 3.75/5

Art: 4.25/5 Leo Dancer changed her attire I see, but we can’t see the moon anymore and that’s what Lunalights are known for in their art, but it doesn’t ruin this card’s art that much if not at all for me.

Happy March y’all!  I’m not sure what we’re doing next week yet, but in two weeks, I’ve got a plan for us here to have a little fun, but I’ve still got to coordinate that with Ausin here, so more on that the week after next.

Closing Legendary Duelist Month and Lunalight week, is another Fusion Monster, this time being Lunalight Sabre Dancer.  This is Level 9, and slightly weaker than yesterday, although we still appreciate a 3000 attack body.  Still Dark and a Beast-Warrior, and the 2600 defense isn’t bad either.  Three generic Lunalight Monsters are required for Fusion Summon, making this a tad easier than yesterday.

So, while the base attack is a bit lower, Sabre Dancer gains 200 attack for that is in EITHER Graveyard and has been removed from play.  Which obviously fits the Lunalight theme deliciously, and should easily have this card up over 4000 attack (even if somehow you get this out early enough only the three Fusion Monsters are in the Graveyard, that’s 3600, and above Leo Dancer).

This card can’t be Targeted with effects (but still destroyed, as opposed to the full protection Leo has) so we’re more or less at potato-potatoe here.  Finally, you can remove this card from your Graveyard from play to Target a Fusion you control granting it an extra 3000 attack points until the End Phase (which can only be done once per turn.)

So all of a sudden the Dancer Fusions have some OTK possibilities, don’t they?  Making Leo Dancer a 6500 attack Monster that can attack twice in one Battle Phase is nothing to scoff at one bit.  So, little easier to bring out, slightly less protection, but will be more powerful and can fuel Leo to a OTK.  More combo oriented than Leo, but still rather good on its own, too.

Rating:  4/5

Art:  4.5/5  Still very pretty, great contrasting colors, but Leo Dancer has superior art, on the body and in the background.
