Madolche Anjelly
– #MP15-EN019

If this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent’s card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 “Madolche” monster from your Deck, but shuffle it into the Deck during the End Phase of your next turn. You can only use this effect of “Madolche Anjelly” once per turn. That Special Summoned monster cannot be destroyed by battle.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Madolche Anjelly was once one of the more hyped cards to come out in a set because of how it would legitimize an archetype.

Our Throwback Thursday choice, Anjelly first does what most Madolche do: return to the deck when destroyed by your opponent. The first quick way to get to any Madolche monster your want, Anjelly pop to summon first turn can get you to a Rank 4 Xyz. If you are just looking for raw damage, Anjelly’s protection from battle. The ideal combo would be tributing Anjelly for Hootcake, then banishing Anjelly to Special Summon Messengelato and get yourself a spell/trap. One monster gets you two on the field and thins your deck by two. With more Xyz monsters within the archetype, as well as generic Rank 4’s to go after, Anjelly has gotten better over time. Puddingcess (if you run her) benefits the most from the battle protection, ensuring you’ll get one pop with her at least and force your opponent to get rid of her first.

A one-card Rank 3 or 4, or a one-card summon of a card that can eliminate a card each time it battles (and gains battle protection from Anjelly) this little one was good back when the archetype didn’t have enough support, now its tremendous.

Throwback Thursday this week gives us another Madolche card, and one of the important Normal Summons in the Deck: Madolche Anjelly.

Anjelly is a Level 4 EARTH Fairy with 1000 ATK and DEF. Low stats on Level 4, good Attribute and the Type gives more options to give you the better effect of Madolche Ticket. First I’ll mention your standard effect where if this card is destroyed in your possession by the opponent and sent to your graveyard, it shuffles itself back into the Deck. Standard Madolche things here, it does help trigger your effects as well if the opponent does end up destroying it. That likely won’t come since Anjelly has an effect to tribute herself to summon a Madolche directly from Deck, but it’s shuffled into the Deck during the End Phase of your next turn and it gives the monster protection from being destroyed in battle. As I’ve mentioned with Loptr, you’d like a Lonefire Blossom for any archetype. Now while this one isn’t a Quick Effect, that’s fine since Madolche really mostly plays on your turn. This card is best to summon Hootcake directly from Deck to then banish Anjelly for another Madolche out of the Deck like Petingcessour or Messengelato, which Anjelly does set up Hootcake’s effect by being a target in grave to banish. Sure the monster goes back at the end of your next turn, but in Madolches you likely won’t make it to that point as I’d imagine you’d finish the game by then or link your Hootcake away into Fresh Sistart. The battle protection is nice at least if you want to trigger Hootcake more than once. Anjelly is a helpful support card in Madolche for setting up many of its plays and allowing easy OTKs. It’s a card you do play 3 of in Madolche easily.

For a double does of dessert, Throwback Thursday treats us to Madoloche Anjelly.  Level 4, Earth/Fairy with 1000 attack and defense all which doesn’t immediately catch your eye.
But she’s damn good.  Your opponent destroying this card from the Field shuffles it back to your Deck (so long as it goes to your Graveyard) which is integral to the Madoloche Theme.
The sweet effect here though is the Soecial Summon trading in this card for any other Theme Monster from your Deck.  It can’t be destroyed in Battle, and also returns back to your Deck in the End Phase.

As long as you play it right, the latter effect should net you whatever you need from your Extra Deck given whatever else you have available.  A lovely piece of candy for the Deck.
