Tap it down and keep it there. Amber Prison is
kind of a fun card, and you can always change it's
target if something bigger and better comes along.
A little expensive at 4 mana, but as I said, more
for the fun deck anyhow. Btw... if you are
interested in this card, I believe it was also
printed in 6th Edition. A great play in limited.
Tapping your opponent's biggest threat in an
environment where there isn't a lot of artifact
removal is always a good thing.

Amber Prison
A permanent Icy Manipulator. By paying 4 mana,
and keeping this tapped, you can keep something
else tapped. Unfortunately, Icy is a lot better
most times, as even though the thing keeps
untapping, so does Icy. Since they both aren't
in a format the other isn't (except block
constructed), I would never use this.
In limited, this is a nice thing to have though,
as the Icy effect can help you deal with their
problematic permanents.

Amber Prison:
This card is basically a "fun" card to play with,
with little to no
practical game play use. I used to play it YEARS
ago as a poor man's Icy
Manipulater (when I mean poor, I mean REAL poor)
it has an interesting way
of locking up one of your opponents best cards,
but its not really all that
spiffy.
In limited, could be usefull. Someone pulls a big
fattie that could crush
you in 2 turns, its nice to tap it forever...but
then again, A Fattie in
return would be a better choice.

Amber Prison
An expensive Icy at worst, I like the versatility
of this card. It gives
some colors a little backing for what they
wouldn't otherwise have- like
creature kill in green. But it is admittedly a
bit slow. Still quite good
in limited, with potential occasional type two
uses.
