Card of the Day

I can
say one thing - it's either tech, or trash.
At the moment, I'm not sure which. It's a
cleric, 2 power for 3CC, and makes spells cost
more. This could be solid as anti-counter,
anti-wrath, or anti-anything that deals with your
weenie army. The problem is he's not a real
efficient weenie himself, and easily killed.
I think there is potential, but it will deal with
the metagame some. Right now, I think he has
too many things against him, but one metagame
switch and who knows.
In limited, if you're
spell heavy, don't play him. If you're
creature heavy, maybe if you need the slot.
Certainly NOT a must play or anything like that,
but is still gray ogreish if you need another body

Glowrider...geez, what a goofy name. It reminds me
of Glowworm or GLOW Ride....take it easy...(insert
80's music). I've heard some talk of it being a
possible inclusion if White Weenie makes a come
back. But then again, I've heard talk of a White
Weenie revival for a while and it hasn't happened
yet.
In Limited, it's kinda dumb, especially in any
heavy Legions limited. And at 3 for a 2/1, that's
a bad deal.

Glowrider
Basically the same as the sphere that got used
against alluren, but he may
see some play otherwise too (block, against high
end spells). Not very
optimal in limited at all though, due to it's cost
vs. power/toughness.

Glowrider is a card
that really seems like it should be great. A card
that would fit in well with White Weenie builds
and that can push other decks off their pace while
having a minimal effect on its own deck. Solid for
some builds but not an all star like some past
offerings.
Constructed – Build
your deck right and this card can really help you
out in some matchups but doesn’t seem to be so
good in others – 2.95
Limited – Not a whole
lot of non-creature spells but a lot of mana
floating around in the longer games. This card
loses a lot here – 2.25 |

Glowrider
I don't know what
to think of this guy, if you play him with the
Muse and add Blue you have the basis for a control
deck. :-/ If the environment slows down a lot he
could have potential and can easily give combo
decks a hard time.... Well, not necessarily a hard
time but he'll be annoying to say the least. Get a
couple of them out in the early game and they'll
disrupt your opponent more than anything, a third
could be game breaking but they don't work too
well against creature decks. I think he could be
great in type two and he's a must in limited, he
won't win you the game but could slow down your
opponent enough to make a difference.

Personally I like the
idea behind Glowrider's ability, unfortunately I
feel there are two major things wrong with this
card. 1) It's
a creature. Creatures are the easiest card type
in the game to remove from play. This ability
just feels like an enchantment and is too
vulnerable on a creature. Aside from that, it
only has one toughness, not very reliable for
staying in play especially with the introduction
of Provoke.
2) It costs three
mana. To reliably get around counter-magic
something needs to cost two or less. Throwing
morph on it may have helped it get in to play more
consistently too.
Limited: It's a 2/1
for three mana and a slightly annoying ability.
The most important ability on this card is it's
creature type. It trades with morph creatures for
the same amount of mana, that's about it.
