A quick green fattie, his one "drawback" really isn't a one for green. If you're playing fat, you probably have some acceleration creatures on the board already, so you could easily have a 5/5 down turn 3 and swinging turn 4. Very nice for quick green beats.

In limited, also a nice addition as removal is fewer an farther between, and mass removal even harder to find. The Croc will rule the 5 seas. Anytime you have the chance to play a 5/5 in limited, you do, as it's hard to stop, and there is very little that can touch a 5 toughness creature before it beats your opponent to death. Nice.

And now, a great, undercosted green creature that you have to sacrifice if it is the only creature you control. It is green, though, so you will very rarely have this be your only creature, an you should have Birds and other creatures out with this. Fortunately for the base set, but unfortunately for getting him through your opponent's defenses, he doesn't have trample or any other evasion, though, so he'll be locked down in battle with anything that wants to chump him.

Not a bad card. 4 mana for a 5/5, with a draw back that is easy to overcome. If your deck usually has at least a few creatures out all the time,
which most green decks do, then your fine to include this bad boy in the
deck. The only way usually that you wont have any other creature out is
after a mass removal spell was played. In that case:
A) He was in play, and is dead now
B) He is in your hand, you'll have to wait
