The reintroduction of
Underworld Dreams to the current environment
through the 8th Edition core set has created some
excitement... probably more so than any other card
being brought back. It's funny though, as
most players feel it won't be particularly viable
in serious constructed.
Casual constructed
is something else, though, as I feel you could
really have some fun with this card. Get a good
blue card drawing engine working for you.
In limited, you'll
have to be very heavy black to make this work for
you.

Now, a surprise card
that made it into 8th Edition. Having your
opponent take 1 damage whenever they draw a card
is pretty good. This even provides a 20 turn
clock by itself. If you want to get devilish
though, use stuff like Teferi's Puzzle Box and
Wheel and Deal, and you've got yourself a fun
casual deck.
Note I said "fun
casual." Folks, don't try it in a real duel -
you'll get smashed.
This may provide a
foil to Phyrexian Arena and Ambition's Cost.
In limited, it's too
slow and color intensive. I wouldn't play it.

Underworld Dreams is a
card that just doesn't do it for me. Okay, I lost
to an Underworld Dreams deck at Gen Con but still.
Just not fast enough or balanced right for most
decks.
Constructed - You may get some use out of it if
the deck is built to abuse it - 2.85
Limited - Games go
on a long time, who knows - 2.45
PEZ - Where is the
speed - 2.50 |

Now this card I have played in many fun
decks. It had wheel and deal, Howling Mine, Megrim
and this. Its practically T2 legal now! This card
has a nice mechanic, but the "dark ritual" casting
cost may make it hard to play. Plus there are tons
of ways to destroy enchantments. My 4 legends ones
will get to shine in T2, but most liekly in fun
decks only. I don't think this will ever see
serious play. Decks based around enchantments are
always risky to play, because there are just so
many easy ways to get rid of them.
In limited this card is too hard to cast
and not worth it for only 1 damage a turn. Plus in
limited there is just no way to abuse this
mechanic.

What a fun card to
make a deck around. Use Teferi's Puzzle Box,
Howling
Mine, and a bunch of other cards that let your
opponents draw lots of cards.
Then stick some Megrims in, some Wheel and Deal,
Shadowmage Infiltrator
for some card draw, you've got a cool deck.
