Pojo's Magic The Gathering
Card of the Day
Chris

Ichneumon Druid is a nice anti combo card.
It would be pretty good in today's extended
environment, but alas, it's not legal in extended.
Soooo... as far as casual goes, if you are having
problems with your friends playing combo decks,
this may be your man, (so to speak).
Not really pertinent
in limited.

Ichneumon Druid
anti combo cards are a good idea in my eyes, and
that's what this guy is.
he's got a few things working against him
though... he's too expensive, too
fragile, too limited, and not legal in extended.
Ah well. Since that's all
he is, he's also too unplayable in limited.

This card is
just strange. Although if it wasn't so
overcosted, and easy to play around it
could have been good. Although an interesting
ability. If they remade it, it would have to be
cheaper, and the ability would just do like 2
damage per insant. Something like that
anyways...
All in all, thats it
for the week!
If reprinted as
is...

"Take that
counterspell" - the druid trying to be witty.
Basically, your
opponent can counter on spell, or can shock you
once per turn, and the pain begins. Of course,
the shock prolyl wont be aimed at you, but
still, ignore the 1/1 aspect f the card and
revel in the coolness of green direct damage!
And look at the Druid. He looks all stupid and
stuff, but he knows magic. Looks can be
decieving see. A valuable lesson. "You should
know Mr. Anderson, looks can be decieving" "who
are you?" (STUPID NEO...STUPID!) Hey, anyone
seen Marix 3 yet? I have :) If you havent,
your in the wrong place. GO NOW. NOW I TELLS
YOU! And then tell me if the final battle
reminds you of DBZ as well. But other than
that..it rocks

This little 1/1
carries a big stick against instant-reliant decks.
The ability costs no mana to activate so it is a
plus. However, there is no type 1 green deck to
support it, and it is a big minus. I may not know
a lot about Legends Limited, but in any Limited
the only instants that will be cast are combat
tricks. And people generally only perform one
combat trick per turn. So it turns into a 1/1 for
1GG. I think I'll pass.

Ichneumon Druid:
We end the week with another Legends, and a very
fun one at that. I hate
hearing "At the end of your turn..." and I get
slammed with a bunch of
stuff. This has happened to me in many matches,
and this at least slows it
down. Especially Red Burn and Blue Control. Only
problem, he is a 1/1, and a
creature that is in constant danger of a simple
burn or provoke.
