Contaminated Bond - At least this guy is somewhat useful in limited. If you are already going black, it can be a way to slow something down, or make attacking or blocking a really ugly proposition for your opponent by costing him 3 life each time he does.  Not for constructed, but decent late pick in draft and sealed.

Friday - Contaminated Bond

While this card can be useful in limited, it is not in constructed. This card requires a specific creature that you've put this on to attack or block, or else it is a dead card. It is true that you've prevented that creature from attacking, but most decks that run creatures have redundancies that would basically ignore this card. So you need a better card to get rid of the creature. This gets oushed out in that department by Smother, Terror, Dark Banishing, etc.

In limited, while it suffers from the same limitations, it's a little better, as limited decks can't rely on the same redundancies as constructed decks can. Still, it doesn't totally prevent the creature from attacking or blocking, so it will usually either continue to swing (if its power is >3 and its controller has board control), or sit back and block a 3+ power creature. I wouldn't play this, but in a REALLY weak pool, I might be able to see why you would have to.

If there were more Juggernaut-type creatures, this would be more
interesting. As it is, it is removal that is, in most cases, worse than
just bouncing the creature, doesn't even actually prevent anything,
including no penalty for activated abilities. So it only goes in a very
aggressive deck, and only if you've got no other pseudo-removal. limited 2.2 constructed 1.4

Contaminated Blood:

Interesting. I can see this possibly finding its way to MBC Sideboard. The
bad thing is, they would be willing to take that 3, while they hurt you even
more. It could possibly slow them down at best. a simple Astral Slide and
its wasted. I really dont see very many Enchant Creatures in this format at
all thanks to all the Astral Slides.

This might be useful in some Mirrodin Block decks that require many artifacts (Affinity). It can fetch any artifact if you stack the deck right. In Type 2 no artifact deck has taken control so it's less useful. In Mirrodin Limited, if you're playing blue and you got a lot of artifacts, go for it. The 1/1 body might be fragile but it's still a flier.

A poor attempt at a black pacifism. Play this on a creature, and your opponent will use it to block one of your bigger creatures. In contstructed, try comboing with Onslaught uncommon, Walking Desecration. Other than that, it's a waste of a slot.
