Pojo's Magic The Gathering
Card of the Day

Haunting Apparition - Uhh... wtf?? A fitting
Holloween card, I suppose =).
As far as playing it
though...if there were a heavy green environment,
I suppose this could be a sideboard card. As far
as casual, I just don't see anyone giving a damn
about it. In limited it might be
useful if you happened to be going UB since it's a
flyer....

Finally, my best
attempt at a Halloween themed card. We did All
Hallow's Eve last year, and we've also done
Infernal Spawn of Evil, my second choice. So it
falls on a random Ghost to pick up our Halloween
COTD.
In constructed, it
has problems. U/B weren't the strongest
combination of cards back when this was printed,
and if you're playing U/B in type 1/1.5, go eat
some cookies instead (Psychatog).
In limited, it's a
flier, but it only pumps its toughness and not
its power. U/B also suffered from the same
problems in limited that it did in constructed
... it just wasn't that strong.

Haunting Apparition
It looks like a sideboard card, but no, you'll
always find better
anti-green cards in black and blue than this guy
('cept maybe in limited).
Heck, terror is a better anti-green card. Happy
Halloween!

Haunting
Apparition
LOL. I have never
seen this card before. I like it. Mainly
because it doesnt destroy artifacts or
enchanments. *eye rolling ensues*
Obviously a
sideboard card, as it only works agaisnt
opponents playing green cretures, it would be a
lot of fun to play. Unfortunetly, no matter how
big he gets, he still only has 2 toughness, so
it will die alot. But it is fun!
Constructed - 2
(sideboard)
Limited - 1
(sideboard, plus not much creature removal to
run in limited)

Haunting Apparition
This card is just dumb. If your opponent uses a
lot of green creatures, play
Hibernation instead, it'll do much more then the
apparition will do. Then
you can go with Insight, card advantage wins
games. You could go with
Bereavement if you're playing vs a lot of green
creatures. Then there is the
fun Deathgrip, countering with a black
enchantment, fun times. Or you can
just kill them all with Nature's Revolt : ) and
Perish does the same thing.

Haunting Apparition is
a bleh card. You obviously can't play it in Type 2
or Mirrodin Constructed. It gangs up on one of
blue and black's enemies, green, which is
traditionally underrepresented in type 1, and
creatures aren't used in type 1 that much, anyway.
Also, in Mirage green wasn't too good, so all you
got for your investment of 1UB is a 1/2 flyer. No
thank you, I'd rather take Storm Crow.
