Solar Tide is the versatile Wrath of God. It's 6 mana, but so were a couple other mass removal spells, that, while they didn't see as much play as Wrath, were definitely a supplement to it in quite a few decks. Its main advantage is if your deck has a focused creature size, you can tailor it's destructive capability. Or, worst comes to worst, you can blow up the board and start over. Though it doesn't necessarily get creatures with regeneration, you can time it to when your opponent is tapped out. Plus, there are very few creatures being played in constructed with regen.

In limited, you always play mass removal if you can swing it. It's a huge advantage over your opponent to know when and if it's coming, allowing you to control the situation by holding creatures until you blow the board up and then get right to playing more.

Limited: 4

The block Wrath. You can either destroy small (power <3) or large (power >2) creatures for 6 mana, or if you sacrifice 2 lands, you can have a true Wrath. Unfortunately, this is woefully underpowered compared to the true Wrath, and so this only has the possibility of seeing play in block. I doubt it will see play there, either.

In limited, it's a good reset if you are behind. Unfortunately, they can still regenerate from this, so it's not that effective. I found too many people were playing with too few creatures anyway this past weekend, so I don't think this would have been that good this weekend. It may get better as people properly construct their decks for the PTQs, but I'm still not overly excited about this.

Solar Tide
Kind of expensive,  even with its "versatility",  and it doesn't stop
regeneration,  but notably one of the few mass removal spells in the block.
Thus increasing its stock.
constructed 3.3
limited 3.5

Solar Tide is one of those spells with a huge effect for a large price. Generally, around the 6 mana mark you need to be looking for cards that win the game outright. Still, WoG was one of the most powerful spells in Magic and this copy cat has the up side that it can be abused in a deck designed to take advantage.

Constructed - 6 mana is a huge turn off - 3.75

Limited - You will hit 6 mana and creature removal is critical as a reset - 4.95
