Pojo's Magic The Gathering
Card of the Day

Fiery
Gambit - Another random rare flipping card. At
least this one is almost useful. Paired up with
something that lets you reflip, and it just might
get very interesting.
By the
way... we could use your help!! We just posted our
New Website for
Shuffle & Cut Games, and it would be great if
some of you could drop in and give it a test run.
The Strategy and Search features are not active
yet, but we're working on them. Please send
any bug reports to:
ScottAndChris@ShuffleAndCutGames.com.
Thanks, everyone!!

The obligatoiry coin
flip card of the set. I had to actually help
someone through playing this this past weekend,
and unfortunately, he won the first 2 flips and
chose to stop rather than going for it all. In
constucted, outside of your casual Chance
Encounter deck, this won't see much play.
In limited, it is
coniditional removal. I doubt I would go past
the first flip, unless my opponent was on the
ropes (at 8 or less life) if I hit the second
flip (putting him at 2 or less). It would really
depend on if the card pool I was playing had
enough removal. I wouldn't want to run this, but
would if I was light on removal.

Fiery Gambit
They really want you to play with coinflipping
cards apparently, because
those are some big rewards. Plus the card that
lets you flip two for each 1
coin, and this -may- even see some constructed
play. Hard to set a value
on a card that will do what you want it to less
than 50% of the time though.

Fiery Gambit is the
first card with coin flipping that may be of some
use. Normally randomness is bad but even 1 flip is
decent, 2 is great, 3 is pushing your luck. Maybe
flips still aren't so good. . .
Constructed -
Potentially powerful but randomness is bad - 1.95
Limited - Creature
removal at 1 flip may be worth it - 2.10 |
