Role Model Duplicity
Imaging to be able to attack with 3 or 4 4/4
creatures by turn 4 that can't
blocked!
Whoow!
My thoughts exactly when i read trough the spoilerlist
of the new horizons
cards.
The (probably obvious) combo that realizes this is
goblin role
model/duplicate chaos.
the duplicate chaos on a goblin role model makes all
your creatures and the
creatures of your opponent exact copies of the goblin
role model(4/4
creature that can't block), so you can attack with a
number of 4/4 creatures
while your opponent can't block!
The mono-red deck around this combo i came up with is
the following:
land (26):
18 mountain
4 earthen armor 2cc, terraform
4 earth flame 2cc, terraform
creatures(20):
4 raging goblin 1/1 1cc
2 blacksmith automaton 1/1 1cc (artifact creature)
4 tribal elite 2/2 2cc
4 crimson knight 2/2 2cc
2 glory replicant 2/2 2cc (artifact creature)
4 goblin role model 4/4 3cc
burn spells(11):
3 static electricity 1cc, 2 damage
4 swirling fire XR, X damage
4 electrocute 3cc, 3 damage(of which 1 uncounterable)
combo spells(3):
3 duplicate chaos
general idea:
first turn: lay land, play creature, attack if raging
goblin
second turn: lay land, play 1 or 2 creatures and attack
third turn: lay land, play goblin role model, attack
fourth turn, lay land, play duplicate chaos, attack with
3 4/4 creatures
burn spells are for destroying opponent creatures or the
kill blow by turn
5.
some additional thoughts:
-there are 26 lands because you want to play a land
every turn the first few
turns, the terraform lands come in handy after you
already have the 4 lands
down.
-maybe substituting the 2 replicants by 2 blacksmith
automatons whould be a
good idea to raise the possibility to have 4 creatures
by turn 4 when you
play the duplicate chaos, because you can play 2
creautures in turn 2.
-other noteworthy creatures to substitute the artifact
creatures whould be:
the shapeshifter limris (3cc): when your opponent is
able to come up with a
giant creature of his own
the lightning cat (4cc): when the combo doesn't work
- i'm a bit in doubt of the static electricity because
it's a swap spell, it
is maybe best only used as the finishing blow
- maybe a fourth duplicate chaos?
Weak points:
-when you see the opponent playing mono-white, be pretty
afraid of the
faerie guardian
- seeing your role model being terrored by a vengeance
or unholy demolition,
for this reason you might consider
- be weary for a foglike effect (eg dense fog) when you
plan your fullblown
attack
- play wisely against a counterhappy blue mage
What do you think about this deck idea?
