11.27.01 - I've played Magic Online and
I'll you what I think about it. Later.
First I'll talk about the new Extended Season.
It starts this weekend and I'm looking forward to it... but only slightly.
I figured out something this weekend. I can't just play any deck I want
to play. The card pool is so large that the friends I borrow cards from
can't always supply me with the decks I want. I am going to play the
deck I want to play, but I don't know how good it is. It was a winner in
Kai Budde's hands, but he's no me.
He can actually play Morphling without letting it
die.
I've let more Morphlings die to my own stupidity
than should ever be discussed. It is so bad that people KNOW how bad I
am with that little darling. The worst was in a Urza's block game where
many people were watching me. It was torture to those rooting for me.
Untargetable or no?
Flying or no? Die because I mess up?
Yes.
But Morphling loved me in London at the PT.
I did 3-0 that table. I did open her smirking face and smirk back,
knowing that I might actually win at least one more game.
I am not sure what sideboard I will be playing, or
which version, or hell, how to really even play the deck to perfection.
What I do know is that I'm going to have fun this time around. If you
want a decklist for it, try the Sideboard.
Back to Magic Online. If you have not seen
the game, just imagine the Magic you play at a store, and then put that on a
computer. Its that simple. Its brilliant and an excellent game.
On Saturday night I was so addicted that I stayed up all night drafting and
playing. What I imagine is that we'll be seeing online tournaments
become more and more popular. Playing against opponents in other
countries will become commonplace. I can see it now, Grand Prix Internet
2003.
Expect to be addicted.
Until next time,
