Now, some of the strategies on Unnatural Selection are pretty good. For
those of you who dont know it, here it is:
Unnatural Selection
Enchantment
1U
1:choose creature type other than wall. Target
creature becomes that type until end of turn.
Now, some people are saying that by turning a creature into the Flagbearer
type, you can force your opponent to target a creature of your choosing, because
of the Flagbearer ability. However, it is a bit more complicated than that. The
"flagbearing" ability IS NOT like haste or trample....just because a creature
has the flagbearer type does NOT mean that it has the "flagbearing" ability. The
creature being a flagbearer means nothing unless you have a creature with the
"flagbearing" ability in play. So you can still do this, its just a bit more
complicated.....first put in Standard Bearer, Coalition Honor Guard, or enchant
a creature of yours with Coalition Flag. THEN you can change their creature to
the flagbearer type, and they must target a flagbearer. But, your creature is
still a flagbearer. How to fix this?? Use Unnatural Selection twice, once to
change their creature to a flagbearer, and a second time to make your creature
some other type. THEN they must target their creature. This also works
with your creatures, enabeling you to control which creatures get targeted by
each spell. So, this is STILL a valid strategy, but is a bit more complicated than meets the eye.
