Subject: Ed's 5 Steps to Godlike Slivers

It is me, "The (Almighty) Ed Man." I am back once again to show the sheer power of the slivers. Most people think they are over rated, and don't have enough potential to win. I beg to differ, and in the following paragraphs I will show you how an ALL COLOR sliver deck can still work, and work well.

Alright... The objective is simple: Get out some mana of every color, put some slivers in and MOB.

Stage one: Mana Collection. The 2 Cities of Brass should supply a quick burst to throw in some early cheap slivers like Crypt or Muscle. Once you get 4 mana, you play Explosive growth. This should let you drop in one big sliver, or a couple little ones. The Chromatic Spheres are in the deck mainly for the drawing of cards. Mirari is an easy way to have double mana, and a bigger attack/defense.... If you can't get enough mana out, with 25 mana, and 6 things that collect it for you, just quit playing now. Pokemon is looking for new players.

Stage Two: Putting Creatures out, and keeping them out. Don't worry about taking early hits from small creatures, or City of Brass. You will gain more life than you can keep track of. Do not sac a creature to block unless absolutely necessary. There should be no problem keeping creatures in with Plated and Crypt out there. But some people amaze even me. The Metallic Slivers will come in with the quickness to help stop some of the pummeling.

Stage Three: Buildup. Here is how this is going to work... Put as many slivers in... as quick as you can. Once you get about 5 in, the game is pretty much won. Never let your guard down, because even with 2 Ward Slivers and 2 Crypt, this deck can still be beaten by blanket spells and land kill decks. This deck rely's heavily on mana, so protect it with your life. Use Brass Herald to quickly pull up some slivers and pump them a bit and then once you get Overlord out, just continuously search for slivers. Essense, Brood and Magma are always good. They are actually part of this decks biggest combo.

Stage four: The Kill Shot. Once Brood is out with Shifting, never, ever, worry about defense again. Whatever number of slivers you attack with, you will get right back. If you add Magma in the mix, and Essense, you gain enormous amounts of life while beating down your opponent. If you want to wipe out creatures, use your Toxin Slivers and your Hunter Slivers to wipe out any creature that might be threatening... Maybe someone like Taunting Elf... or Phage. The combos this deck holds to beat your opponent into a bloody pulp are countless. But don't make the newbie mistake of putting out Winged Sliver or Shifting if you want to provoke ground troops. That would take all the fun out of wiping out your buddies best guys. I added Karona into the deck just because he is godlike. I mean, you gain life for every point of damage you do, why not do more of it? I doubt by the time you get Karona out, that your opponent can produce any type of offense. What is the worst that can happen? You attack with everyone, use Brood's ability to get that many back, and then block the ones Karona throws back at you! Leave your opponent in a puddle of tears. For some good combos, see my list below.

Step Five: The Victory Dance. If you can't win with creatures that all have provoke, flying, first strike, +7/+9, Attacking doesn't cause to tap, destroy creature that a sliver damages, gain life for what a sliver hits with, can't be blocked except by slivers, tap or pay 2 to regenerate, tap and give target sliver +X/+0 where X is the number of slivers in play, and slivers have protection from the chose color... Just burn your deck and toast some marshmallows... At least then something constructive can come from the money you spent.

Well, in case you want to be godlike with this deck.... Here are some good combos to take into consideration.

Serra's Blessing is good with any ability that makes you tap. You can attack with your sliver, then tap to regenerate. Provoke someone, use Toxin's ability to kill the creature, then regenerate if needed. Boom. No more 13/13 Cloudscraper.

Essense Sliver with Shifting, Magma and Brood is the nastiest combo ever. Hit hard being most likely unblockable, get bundles of life and get as many slivers back as you attacked with, ready for defense.

Ward Sliver can be evil. Especially with Brood. Smack them up with a bunch of protected slivers, then get that many back to block everything they could ever wish to send back.

Talon sliver mixed with Magma and Hunter could take down the biggest of foes. Who is going to stop a huge attack with first strike? Maybe if they pump one of their "Shades" up... But who cares. You have first strike. If they get bigger than you with Might of Oak, or Mythic Proportions, then tap another sliver and rack up another heap of damage. The pain never stops.

Ok, I think you know all that you need to build the sickest sliver deck ever made. So go out there, and build it. If you have any questions or comments... E-mail me. I answer everything that hits my box. I have been playing since 1998 and I have played just about every deck type out there. I can answer mostly anything you can think up to ask me. Have fun!
