Subject: The Angel Deck - By Dalthid (No Type)
Well, I was on a mission of building "the ultimate"
angel deck, and I might have found it. It has been in this configuration for
quite some time and has never been beaten.
There are guys I play with who come just to play
against this deck. I am a bit more modest than that, I say, it needs some work,
a bit o'tweaking if you will.
Oh, and this is not "T-anything", this deck is
built for "The Love of the Game" and not to stay within the guise of banned/not
banned cards. The whole "banned" thing pisses me off.

60 Cards Total
Okay, the basic premise is flying stuff...duh? The
"Moat" is optional as I know that it is hard to find and expensive, I would just
stick another land in thereor a library of leng if I didn't have it
already. The rest of the cards as far as availability and price...I have no
idea. Anyway, the cool thing about this is that on the occasion that you get
lucky enough to draw up a breath of life or miraculous recovery, you can discard
any big creatures you have and bring them back cheaper. Yea that sounds kind of
dumb, what with all the new stuff that's out, but its fun to pull off.
The story circles add a nice twist because you
don't have to worry about a side board for your COP's, you can just pick the
color as the cards come in.
The serra avatar is the kicker. With the little
life giving stuff like contemplation, angelic chorus mangara's blessing...etc.
you can hold off a bit on the avatar. When you feel its time, say, when you have
60 life...hehehe, bring this bad boy in as a 60/60 (also gaining 60 life again
from the angelic chorus thrusting your life count to a whopping 120). Throw in
the power matrix and the avatar flies, has trample and first strike. This has
happened to me almost every time I play it (no, I don't stack the deck). There's
also the cryptic gateway to help bring thse big guys from your and if you
want.
The only downside I have found so far is the
counterspells of blue, but the duration of this deck outlasts all the blue I
have played, especially with the feldon's cane.
There's more, but I don't want to make this too
long. :)
