I have been abusing Time Walk for so long its not funny, and
recently i have been trying to build an infinte turn deck. A lot of deck can
play 5 or more turn in a row but i have never seen one who can play at his
will.
Here is the deck :
Creatures :
4 Exalted Angel
4 Serra Angel
2 Clone
1 Arcanis the Omnipotent
1 Archivist
Sorcery/Enchantement/Instant:
3 Wrath of God
3 Mirari's Wake
4 Counterspell
2 Arcane Denial
2 Disenchant
2 Swords to Plowshares
2 Gaia's Blessing
1 Stroke of Genius
1 Eureka
1 Regrowth
1 Time Walk
Artifact :
3 Thran Dynamo
1 Sol Ring
2 Planar Portal(Most important card in the deck with Time Walk)
Land :
4 Tropical Island
4 Savannah
4 Thundra
3 Island
4 Plains
1 Karakas
1 Strip Mine
First of all i tried to build a deck which could competitate
against any type of deck. I think i manage to do that, it have a good mixt of
defensive and offensive. He is not that powerful considering its a type 1 deck
but its very interesting to play with and against it. This deck is particuly
powerful when playing a multiplayer game with your friend(4 or more). You will
rarely loose in multiplayer unless your friends firgured out your deck and play
together to remove the key cards(which they have to do or you will win)
THE CREATURES
The Exalted Angel its such a powerful creature its not funny(i
call them destroy creatures magnet). The weirdest part of it its that it
is very powerful alone you dont need anything to make it very good,
it is has good has it can get. The deck is rather slow so the exalted
angel alow you to get the much needed life points and it is very fast to
play(Especially if you are lucky enough to get the Sol Ring in your starting
hand). The Serra angel alow you to attack while defending yourself. The Clone is
used on exalted angel most of the time. All those cretures allow you the buy the
time to build your INFINITE TURN COMBO.
THE SPELLS:
Again the counterspell are used to buy yourself some time and
counter the other player key card. Dont use counterspell on creatures(use Wrath
of God) use them wisely on his most powerful card so he dont get his combo
in if he have one. Wrath of god allow you to complety wipe out a whinnie deck
and buy yourself some much time, Wrath of God also alow you to get rid of the
most annoying protection from white creatures.
INFINITE TURN COMBO/PLANAR PORTAL :
The key cards for your infinite turn combo are Planar Portal,
Time Walk, Regrowth and Gaia's Blessing. What you need to do is get 2 Planar
Portal in play and 16 mana. 16 mana sounds a bit too much but trust me it is
not. With 3 Thran Dynamo(Tap to add 3 colorless cost 4 mana to cast), 3 Mirari's
Wake and one Sol Ring it doesnt take too much time till you get your 16 mana.
Anyway all extra mana from those cards can be used with Stroke of Genuis(hard to
loose a game when you draw like 7 cards) or help you cast your creatures
which are a bit high on mana. Rememeber you can still build your combo while
attacking with the Exalted Angels and get the life points to stay alive or even
kill your opponent before you get your combo in(use counterspells to protect
your creatures). You can also use Eureka to build your combo and cast creatures
at the same, its rather devastating.
PLANAR PORTAL DESCRIPTION :
The Planar Portal is an underrated artifact. It cost 6 mana to
cast and you can use 6 mana and tap it to search your library for any card and
put it in your hand. Even if you dont have the second planar portal in play you
can use the Planar Portal to get it or use the Planar Portal and get
any card. This mean that you can pretty much destroy anything in play for 8 mana
each turn(Remember you have a bunch of mana in this deck) or always have one
counterspell in your hand.
For the infinite turn combo you use one Planar Portal(6 mana),
get the Time Walk and play it(2 mana). After that you use the second Planar
Portal to get a Gaia's Blessing(6 mana) and cast it(2 mana) and return
the Time Walk, Regrowth and the other Gaia's Blessing in your
library. Repeat this process on the next turn and so on, play alone till your
oponents concede the game. That way you can play till your library runs out of
cards. That startegie is very good in multiplayer game since once you get the
combo in you win the game no matter how many oponent there is(well unless
someone is bright enough to destroy your Planar Portal or play
counterspells)
I guess the combo would work with Time Warp instead of Time
Walk but the 3 extra mana to cast would make it very difficult to do.
Of course you could make the deck much better by changing the
4 counterspells with 4 Mana Drain. Remove Arcaniss and the Archivist and change
them for Time Twister and Ancestral Recall but hey i dont have have that much
budget :P. You can make a lot of change to the deck if you have the right
cards.
If you have only one Planar Portal in play and less mana you
can still play 3 turn in a row opponent play one turn you play 3 turn and so on.
First turn use Planar Portal get Time Walk play it, second turn use Plannar
Portal get Regrowth play it on Time Walk, third turn let your oponnent play and
the end of his turn use Planar Portal on Gaia's Blessing play it at your turn to
return Time Walk, Regrowth and Gaia's Blessing and so on. You do this while
attacking with your Serra Angels and Exalted Angels.
You can protect your Planar Portal with counterspells. A good
idea is the wait till your oponent dont have a lot of mana before casting Planar
Portal. You can then use it and get TimeWalk and start your combo.
Have fun!
