Subject: G/U Elf deck by Luke H
GU elf deck by Luke H.
Well I've seen many GU elf decks recently all
fairly decent but none capturing the full potential that they can. The
beauty of an elf deck is that it is fast...if it is not fast its generally
worthless. In a GU elf deck it is neccesary to make an army while holding
off your opponents creatures. To do this make sure you have a few seals of
cleansings, a few unsummons, temporal springs, or better than all of them in an
elf deck 2-4 Equalibrium. Equalibriums are wonderful in an elfdeck because elfs
are cheap and quick. It is also neccesary to have 2-4 wellwishers (always
neccesary in an elf deck) 2-4 timberwatch elves( for added power) a 2-4
bloodline shaman( to get elves in your hand fast) 4 elvish warriors, 2 giae's
skyfolk, 2 wire wood heralds, 2 wire wood heralds(to get needed elves into your
hand)maybe some seekers of the skybreak, 2 birchlore rangers(for mana) 2 urborg
elf(for blue), 2 wirewood hive masters ( to produce cheap blockers) 2-4 voice of
the woods( for the big 7/7s) and of coures 2-4 intuder alarms(untaps all
creatures when one gets played). MAYBE put some wire wood prides(actually
you should definitly put in wirewood prides) and MAYBE some skyshroud poachers
and/or a couple sylvan messengers in your deck( can kill you or save you.) have
no more than 20 lands and no less than 15 have 2/3 forest and 1/3 island and
maybe but some wirewood lodges in.
THIS IS NOT AN EXACT DECKLIST, IT IS ONLY THE STRUCTURE OF
ONE
THE WAY THIS DECK WORKS:
With a wirewood hivemaster and equalibrium in
play, if u play an elf that costs a forest and a generic mana and pay 2 more you
return two of ur opponents creatures to their hands, while not a combo it works
well and fast. With bloodline shamans you can get elves out immensly
quick. The point of the hivemaster is to produce creatures that can die
without any extreme consequences to you. id rather have an insect die then my
well wisher. The timberwatch elves can help on the offensive and often
will hurt an opponent. Wellwishers hold off your opponent until you can
take out a voice of the woods and start taking out 7/7sand start tearing your
opponents apart. The elvish warriors can ruin an opponents early game( a
2/3 creature that costs 2 forest).
THE COMBO: Well weve all heard of it, intruder
alarm and voice of the woods, but for you who don't know...
Intruder Alarm:
2U
Enchantment
Creatures don't untap during their controllers' untap
steps.
Whenecer a creature comes into play, untap all
creatures.
Voice of the Woods
3GG
2/2
Creature-Elf Lord
Tap five untapped elves you control:Put a 7/7
green elamental creature token with trample into play.
With intruder alarm out when you tap 5 elves
with voice of the woods it creates a 7/7 creature, thus all creatures untap and
it bgins anew...in other words you can produce an unlimited amount of
7/7creatures with trample.
Now I'm sure your thinking what are the chances
of me having the intruder alarm a voice of the woods and 4 elves in play...in
truth...not bad, there are tons of ways to search for elves plus there are tons
of other small combos in the deck(most involving intruder alarm)
For example: an inruder alarm a few generic
elves, a birchlore ranger. dont tap mana to play creatures tap elves since they
all untap anyways, its even better if you have a bloodline shaman out.Use it,
play a creature, use it again. Or if you play a creature wellwisher untaps and
you gain even more life. regardless yuor elves keep untapping and you keep
searching. If one were to have a few priestess of titania and maybe some
skyshroad poachers in the decj you could get every elf in your deck out by the
fifth turn.
So anywho.... have fun with this.
