Subject: B/R Volrath,Extended legal, By Dustin Burazin

Black/Red Volrath extended legal Deck, By Dustin Burazin.
Hello to everyone reading, and welcome to My article.
For everyone who Doesn't know what or who Volrath is, Here is the card:

Volrath the Fallen 3BBB
Creature-legend Nemesis
1B, Discard a creature card from your hand: Volrath the Fallen gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the discarded card's converted mana cost.
" I stepped out. I did not step down." 6/4

First, a quick history of Volrath, then I'll get to the deck.
Volrath, Evincar of Rath, was a mighty being, Before being smited by Crovax, the Cursed, with the Help of Ertai, wizard Adept.
But before being smited, Volrath once controlled all of Rath, Before going after the Skyship Weatherlight, leaving the throne open to all who dared.
Needless to say, Crovax, along with Ertai, Both opted for it. Crovax, for power, Ertai, for Freedom from his Jail life.
When Volrath Finally came back, He found not only his throne soon to be taken over, But Yawgmoth's Puppet, Belbe, There to Inform him of the challenge being taken place against him, showing that Volrath had Failed Yawgmoth by going after the Weatherlight.
(All of this is based off the novels.)
Now that you all now the story, here is the Deck:
B/R Volrath
3x Volrath the Fallen
2x Gravespawn Sovereign
2x Innocent Blood
3x Nightscape Familiar
2x Ghastly Demise
2x Reckless Spite
2x Cabal Patriarch
4x Scornful Egotist
1x Bloodfire Colossus
1x Oblivion Stone
1x Lightning Greaves
1x Vorrac Battlehorns
4x Neurok Hoversail
2x Backlash
4x Shivan Zombie
4x Terminate
2x Cauldron Dance
1x Shadowblood ridge
12x Swamp
8x Mountain

The Strategy:
Creature destruction early game, Where Reckless spite comes in handy.
Volrath comes out a little late sometimes, but that's why the Cabal Patriarch is there, not to better Volrath, but to help. The 'Patriarch can handle the game by himself sometimes, but Volrath wins faster, thanks to not only the 'Patriarch, (which helps in play or hand.) but the 'Egotist,Gravespawn, and other copies of Volrath.
The 'Dance is in there for a little fun late game. It usly Doesn't happen, But sometimes you Can 'Dance and get the Volrath or 'Patriarch in play, and win next turn, and watch your opponent gap at the play you just did. Not because it wrecked Him/Her, But because you now have out one of the 3 Evils in your deck ( The third being the Bloodfire Colossus, which is a great board clearer, and late game winner).

Card Analysis:
I'll just name the ones that might need it.

Why only 2x Ghastly Demise and Innocent Blood and not 4x of one or the other?
Like any Mtg player will tell you, (Experienced, of course.) is that veriaty is good, 2 Blood are good for early game, and not late game, as I usley have out a few zombie's and Familiars ( That are good Chump Blockers.) that I don't want to lose, as of with the Demise, it's single targeted, and with all of the Creature destruction, you're Graveyard should have about 7 cards in it at all times late game.

Bloodfire Colossus:
This guy is great late game, plain and simple.
Use 'Dance, Grab him, then sacrifice ( On your Opponents turn). Saves you a Turn or two.

Backlash:
Plain and simple, again: Satured Ghoul gettin you down? How would you're opponent feel after this?

Oblivion Stone:
Board clearer, saving Volrath, or 'Patriarch.

Lightning Greaves:
So long spot Removal ( On you're Side)!
Why one? Two is too much of a hassle.

Vorrac Battlehorns and Neurok Hoversail:
Great combo, One Horns helps to even out the Opponents flying threats ( Too many fliers are a problem for this deck, this helps even it out on the offense.).

Gravespawn Sovereign:
High casting cost, Zombies in the deck, This guy is hardly ever not useful.

Well, that's it, I hope you, the reader, are satisfied with your fill, since Another article won't be due out from Me in at least a week.
I do plan on running this in an Extended Event, So I'll probably fill you all in on how it went.
