Okay so the main point of this deck is to swarm and
storm your opponent so fast they won't know what hit them. Although there
is only 19 forest in the whole deck, Wirewood Channeler makes it a whole lot
easier to get more mana fast. Also, Elvish Piper really comes in handy and
so does Tooth and Nail. Those cards make is so easy to call out the big
creatures in this deck like the four Thorn Elementals. The reason why I
put Darksteel Colossus in this deck is because it is so easy to get out due to
the fact that you should already have a lot of cards to help you. Now when you
play any of the Wirewood Hivemasters, your opponent is in deep trouble. That one
card puts a 1/1 insect creature into play for any other elf that comes into
play. With all three Wirewood Hivemasters out, you can easily make a swarm of
insect tokens. With that in mind, Spawning Pit really kicks in because you can
sacrafice two of those tokens, which is no biggy, and change them into a 2/2
token. And since you have cards that pump each other up like Gempalm
Strider and Timberwatch Elf, you can stomp all over your opponent. Not to
mention the one card that can change the whole game : Biorhythm. For just 8
mana, all players' life becomes equal to the number of creatures they control.
So if you have a swarm of tokens, you can easily take them out because your
opponent won't likely have a lot of creatures. And if they do, Thorn
Elemental will take them out for you. Oh yeah, if they don't have ANY creatures,
guess what? You win.
