Discard Deck
My name is Kevin Roberson, i've played magic since
mercadian was new and i've generaly made decks based on what seems fun and
strategicaly sound. Some are rather simple but others like the one i'm
submitting to your site are rather trickey but horribly efficient, especially
when there are more than 2 players.
My discard deck has no single basis besides plenty of
megrims and make them discard, but has plenty of combinations to make this
effective. The most powerful of these combinations is Temporal Adept,
Warped Devotion and Megrim. The temporal adept pays 3 blue to send
anything to their hand, since its a discard deck the idea is that they do not
have a hand thus the warped devotion sends that permanent directly to the
graveyard while the megrim deals out 2 damage for each megrim of the four in my
deck that are in play. Going with the megrims you can also get a lot of
fun using several wheel and deals and discordant dirges, the wheel and deal
makes them drop their hand for massive damage and draw seven cards. the
discordant dirge gets a counter every turn then sacrifices to make them discard
a number equal to the number of counters, effectively they drop 7-14 cards and
take massive damage for five mana for each of the four times you should be able
to do this. If this isn't killing them fast enough toss in urborg drakes
and avatars of will for massive damage in the air. There are tons of cards
that you can use to replinish their hand and make them drop it again but the
base cards in the deck are as follows:
4 megrims
4 warped devotions
2
temporal adepts
4 avatars of will
4 discordant dirges
2-4 urborg
drakes
4 hym to torachs
4 ravenous rats
4 wheel and deals
4 chilling
apparition's
1-2 sibilant spirit's
and any number of unburdens,
stupors, hypnotic specters or anything else to make them drop cards, draw cards,
or take damage and convenience yourself in doing so with plenty of
polluted deltas and salt marshes to power the whole
opperation.
