Pauper's Deck Challange-peasant on MTGO
Hello Friend,
I am from a far away place
called Magic The Gathering: Online. I love peasant magic and so did alot of
others on MTGO. MTGO is only IPA 7th and up, so alot of the older sets aren't on
there :/ So we made a Weekley tournament that is free to enter, and u can win
prizes. Though it was hard to calibrate how many uncommons there are in a casual
tournament online. So we just decided to make it all
commons.
It is quite a fun format
actually, through cranial plating made it kinda boering so we banned and
unbanned it for some tournaments. We started off calling it Peasant Deck
Challange. Then some that were joining were arguing that Peasant is a solid name
with a format already layed out by the Peasant Council, with 5 uncommons
allowed. Most of the people had gotten used to calling it "PDC" for short
already, so we looked up something similar to what a peasant would be, as a poor
person, so we found the word Pauper, which has a similar meaning. So it is now
called Pauper's Deck challange, or Pauper Magic.
We have had it up and running
to a decent size now and just wanted to give a shout out the the Peasant
Community about it. We had a Feature article on Magic's main site.(http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/daily/jm67)
We do all of our tournies and info off the MTGO msg boards. We are now
appraoching our 15th Tourney this weekend. And after the 16th tourney we are
doing PDC Worlds Online with top winners and point winners of our weekely
tournaments. Pretty neat stuff. We have a Pauper Council set of I believe 4
people right now. Our reach might even go out to paper magic eventually. Well
i'm Just giving you a heads up showing you what we are doing. You could possibly
maybe check out the online scene on a spare account of ours just to see what it
was about.
