Domain
One of the Plainshift decks is Domain. This
deck uses cards that work better
for each basic land you control. The main question:
Domain is it good or not?
I play a variant of Domain. Here are
the some of the good cards I like to
use in it.
Draco, Strength of Unity, Exotic Disease and Curse,
Quirion Dryad, Magnigoth
Treefolk, Wayfaring Giant, power armor, and Harrow.
There are other cards I use but these are some of the
best ones.
The use of the cards:
Draco: 9/9 Flyer for 6 with no upkeep to pay if you have
all the basic lands.
Only bad thing is that it's an artifact creature :(
Also you could have
Stratadons replace them if you can't afford or you don't
have any Dracos.
Strength of Unity:+5/+5 if you have all basic lands for
only 3W! If you have
all the basic lands this makes your creatures huge. 1/1
to 6/6!
There's quite a bit of enchantment destroying out there
so if your facing a
deck with those this might be in play only a short
while.
Exotic Disease:Opponent loses 5 life and you gain 5 life
for only 4B. It's
pretty useful because it can help you win games.
Exotic Curse:This is what I call creature control power.
Example: They play a
6/6 dragon legend, you play this, it becomes a 1/1
dragon.
Quirion Dryad: If this on turn 2 it could become a 10/10
by turn 11-13. It
just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Maginigoth Treefolk:Has landwalk of every type if you
control all basic lands.
It's only a 2/6 so you could save it to block if you
want to. Once a made one
a 17/21 and killed my opponent in one hit because they
couldn't block it.
Wayfaring Giant:Maybe a bit overcosted but a 6/8 for 5W
isn't bad.
Power Armor:This artifact works similar to Strenth of
Unity except it you can
use it on different creatures and you have to keep
paying for it.
Harrow or other land searching spell:This is pretty
obvious why it's in here.
The deck revolves around you having all the basic lands
out so this is a must
have for this deck.
How This Deck Does:
WHen you don't get out all the basic lands it does bad
and creature kill/block
decks could stop it because its creatures do most the
damage.
It is really fun to play with though, even though it
might not win all the
time, it has pretty good card drawing, strong creatures,
and great land
searching. A heavy land destruction deck would stop this
dead in its tracks
though. Also, you might change it to revolve around
coalition victory, because
if you had at least all the basic lands and a creature
of every color, then
poof you win. Maybe I'll take mine to a tournament this
weekend and submit a
report.
