Pojo's Magic Book Reviews Magic: The
Gathering - Produced in association with Wizards of the Coast. This book was made a couple of years ago. The book contains details on how to build 120 different decks. The book is 6" x 9", and 144 pages. This book is essentially a decktester's dream. The decks include 5th edition, Portal, Type I, Type II, Theme decks (like a deck of cards by 1 artist), Multi-player, Extended, and Classic-Restricted Type 1.5. Each deck is given 1 full page of coverage, with the card list to make it, including sideboard. A helpful touch is that there is a quick info box on top of each page with:
This book was printed a couple of years ago, so the newest expansion sets aren't in there, but I don't think that hurts you too much. I think it still gives you an idea on how cards work together, and some deck types you may want to try. One thing that I like is that that there are a handful of decks built with all common cards that you make for the price of a pair of socks. This is great for all you newbies out there that want to get into the game cheap to start off. If you want to make a Type I deck that will cost you $1500, that's here too. The remainder of each page is dedicated on the strategy for playing the deck. If you are into building and testing a variety of decks, you'll love this book. Simple and straight-forward. Somewhere around $11 at Amazon.com. Click here to order this book at Amazon.com If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail us at BookReviews@pojo.com. If a book isn't reviewed here yet, then I have yet to purchase it. If you are an author or publisher, and want me to review one of your books. Feel free to mail me a copy. (hasn't happened yet, but you never know)
