2004 – Psimon – Dr. Simon Jones
Today we are going
to finish up the week by looking at the best F5
card out there – Psimon.
I have decided that
Psimon is the way in which the creators of the
game have decided to balance out the fact that
the rest of the F5 characters are not worth
playing (except maybe Shimmer). What this guy
lacks in playability (loyalty and stats) it more
than makes up for in abilities. This guy is a
excellent way to shut down those annoying weenie
rush decks, that seem to be popping up more and
more often, since your opponent will no longer
be able to recruit anything with a cost of 6 or
less. Just toss this guy along with a Flame
Trap or two and presto…goodbye weenies!!!
What I really like
about this card is the fact that it shuts down
all of your opponent’s plot twists that cost 6
or less. You can say good bye…to just about
anything and everything. Being able to keep
your opponent from playing plot twists is
definitely a game winning strategy. However,
you have to remember that on-going play twists
and locations will not be affected by this
guy…ouch!
If you are going to
play this guy you may want to try this scenario…
Take first
initiative
Turns 1-5…stay alive
Turn 6 …drop shimmer
in the back row and another 4-drop
Turn 7….drop Psimon
Attack step of turn
7……Activate Shimmer and exhaust all of your
opponent’s character that you can. Then team
attack with all of your low drop characters
against your opponent’s high drop character.
Finish the game off
by boosting your Simon and attacking your
opponent’s low drop character. Then dance a
little victory jig in honor of your victory.
See, it is that
easy….just make it to turn 7 and the game could
be yours! Btw if anyone can pull off the above
situation, drop me a line and let me know how
well it worked.
Ratings
Fearsome Five
constructed deck – 4.5/5.0 ….If you do not let
this guy get stunned, he will probably win you
the game.
Limited – 1.5/5.0 …I
am still going on the assumption the F5 is too
hard to draft…but if you could get this guy on
the field he would be devastating.
