This is one of
the better characters the knights have to
offer. Im yet to experiment with a regular
deck for the Knights because Ive been
focusing on tweaking out Swat but this
character alone is the reason that I want to
build a regular variant. Her stats are not
bad at all and her ability put her way over
the top. I want to say shes a Knights
staple but Ill have to test her out first
just to make sure.
4/5
Limited
All I can say is
this character is great in this format not
only because of her ability but because of
something she doesnt have Loyalty. Shes
not loyal to anyone and will take out your
opponents forces and make him pay using a
lot of rogues who cant support each other.

Catwoman – Selina
Kyle
This week we are
going to take a look at some of the Gotham
Knights supporting characters. To start with,
let’s look at Catwoman….
Catwoman’s effect is
awesome…there is no doubt about it. Being able
to draw a card in a Gotham Knights deck is key (if
you are going to play the 7 drop Batman). Heck,
being able to draw a card is pretty darn good.
Add making your opponent discard at the same
time you draw and you get icing for your cake.
However this little kitty didn’t make the final
cut in my Gotham Knights deck.
Considering that she
only has stats of 6/7 and she doesn’t have
flight or range, she lost her spot in my deck to
Nightwing and Batgirl. Unfortunately, by turn
four you have just about hit that crucial point
in the game. That means you need to put
something out there with a little meat on it so
that it can hurt your opponent for a couple of
turns until you finish them off. Since most 4
drops are at least 7/7, this character is not
going to overcome many of your opponent’s
characters, much less cause breakthrough. The
only thing you can hope for when playing this
character is that your opponent’s characters do
not fall when they are suppose to or you can
pull some equipment from your deck to help her
out. Considering many people do not like
playing any equipment, this card definitely
falls into the gamble category….
Ratings:
Constructed -
2.5/5.0 …..She tries so hard but falls so short…
Limited – 3.0/5.0
…..She stands a better chance here considering
that your opponent’s characters will probably
not drop like they should.

I've noticed that a
lot of cards in the DC Origins set have great
effects, but weaker stats to balance them out.
Today's card is a perfect example. Catwoman,
Selina Kyle has a truly awesome effect, but at
6/7 for a 4 drop, you'll have trouble doing
enough breakthrough damage to trigger it. Still,
gaining a two card hand advantage on your
opponent is nothing to sneeze at. If you have
initiative on turn 4, you'll probably want to
use Catwoman to attack one of your opponent's
weaker characters, in order to do some damage
and trigger the effect. Unfortunately, since she
has to do breakthrough for you to draw, team
attacking with her is useless. Use Tim Drake to
give her a boost, but make sure they can't
reinforce.
In Limited, being able to draw cards is a plus,
but there are a lot bigger bodies out there, so
only pick her if you just really need another
Gotham Knight.
She's very situational, but when it works...it
works.

Catwoman, Selina
Kyle --
I'm sitting on the fence in regards to Catwoman.
On one hand, she does have a *great* ability,
especially when you think of it in terms of card
advantage. Each time Catwoman causes
Breakthrough, you gain a two card advantage over
your opponent. The problem with this line of
thinking is that Catwoman is abnormally small
for a 4-Drop, with only a six for her attack.
This means that she doesn't break through some
3-Drops (namely, Wolverine, She-Hulk, and
Mammoth), which means you may have just wasted a
turn playing a sub-par card. This becomes
especially relevant when you consider that
Gotham Knights also feature Dick Grayson*Nightwing
and Cassandra Cain*Batgirl in the 4-Drop slot,
both of which are extremely solid cards.
In limited, I would take the smaller body in
favor of a great ability. Cards in hand are
extremely imported in a limited environment (moreso
than constructed), and Catwoman definitely works
in your favor.
