Electro – Maxwell
Dillon
Hmmm….not bad…not bad at all. This guy will
definitely be found in most SS decks and SS deck
variations. As a 2/2 2-drop with range, Electro
is nothing to really look at on the surface.
However, his effect defiantly makes you do a
double take. By activating this guy and
discarding a SS character, you can stun an
opponent’s character with a cost of 3 or less.
You have to keep in mind that this effect can
only be used during your attack step, but have
probably figured out what kind of advantage this
means should you have initiative on turn 3.
Imagine, if you will, that your 3-drop falls on
turn 3 and that you have this guy on the field
already. Even if your opponent does manage to
get their 3-drop on the field, not only can you
stun it with Electro’s ability, but now you have
a serious field advantage. Even if you don’t get
your 3-drop this guy can protect you against
your opponent’s 3-drop, provided you have
initiative. As far as attacking with this
character is concerned, I would probably not
count on him to do much. After all, we can’t
have a start deck card that is that good….
Ratings:
SS constructed deck – 3.0/5.0 ….I would love to
give this guy a higher rating, but his effect
relies too much on you having odd initiatives.
Limited – 3.5/5.0 …..You usually see lower cost
characters in this format, so provided you have
a lot of SS characters, this character can give
you more of an advantage.

Electro, Maxwell
Dillon - Sinister Syndicate SS has some nasty
powers and this is one of them. Talk about board
control. Say for instance that you have
initiative on Turn 3, you already played Electro
Turn 2 and used his power, now on Turn 3 you get
to see who your opponent sends out and then stun
their 3 drop with Electro and then let your 3
Drop break through with some BEL or attack their
other drop if they still have one.
Constructed: 3/5 – All things Syndicate you
usually will want to run Electro as your 2 drop,
although I also do like Hammerhead a lot too. If
you are going for board control definitely run
Electro. At 2/2 he is pretty average and range
helps out with this aspect. The only drawback is
that not only do you activate Electro but you
also have to discard a SS character from your
hand.
Limited: 3/5 – No Loyalty and with Electro’s
ability makes him a decent pick in draft. You
probably wont have trouble drafting other SS
characters. The ability to stun a 3 drop during
your attack step without attacking is a real
shiner here.

Back to Spider-Man
today, as we look at a very good card for
Sinister Syndicate decks. WSM has a lot of good
small cost characters, and Electro is one of
them. 2/2 is on the small end of the spectrum,
but his effect is a killer. You need initiative
to really get the most out of it, but you'll
probably get it off two or three times if you
play it right. When your 2 drop can stun your
opponent's 3 drop without even having to declare
an attack, that's power. The discard isn't going
to hurt you too much in the long run, and the
tradeoff is worth it.
In Limited, he's a huge asset. Even if you miss
a drop, you can take out your opponent's guys
without worrying about taking any damage in
return. You'll have a chance at 2 or 3 copies of
this guy if you're lucky, and grab all you can.
This guy screams board advantage.
Ratings:
Constructed: 4.5/5
Limited: 4.5/5

Electro, Maxwell
Dillon --
When I first saw this card, I wasn't a huge fan.
He isn't very big for a 2-Drop, and his ability
is only usable on your attack step. However, as
time has gone on, Electro has grown on me a bit.
The Syndicate likes to have as many guys out of
the way as possible, so their heavy hitters can
make it to the opponent unscathed. Electro helps
pull guys like Wolverine or Thing out of the
way, making a hole for Rhino to charge through.
I won't say he's great, but he's acceptable.
In limited, Electro is a little lack-luster,
especially considering you have to discard a
Syndicate card to activate his ability. However,
the 2-Drops in Web of Spider-Man aren't as good
as they were in the previous two sets, so he is
worth some consideration.
