Beast Boy – Garfield Logan
Beast Boy is one of
the two available 3-drops the Titans have. The
other 3-drop being Roy Harper- Arsenal, a man
with whom I loath simply because he’s not Beast
Boy. So Beast Boy doesn’t start off that strong,
he’s no Mammoth anyway, but he can sure approach
that kind of strength. Every times he attacks
or defends he’ll get a +1/+1 counter. Get him
out early and keep him alive with a Shape Change
or two and he’ll be up and ready to fight in no
time. Remember now, the card says every time he
is attacked he gets those precious little
counters. That means that if your opponent for
some friggin’ crazy reason decided to team
attack you with fifty characters, he would get
himself 50 counters making him a 53/53
character. (Not likely, but I’m just trying to
make a point here.)
Some people may be
confused about just when to add these counters
onto good ol’ Beast Boy. When he’s the attacker
it gets added as soon as he becomes exhausted,
BEFORE damage calculation is taken into
account. When he’s the defender it gets added
as soon as the attacker exhausts…..and well,
after all that chaining stuff resolves of
course.

Teen Titan
Constructed Deck – 4.5/5…..Just for the fact
that he’s cooler than Arsenal.
Limited –
4/5….Never got the chance to grab one, but if I
did I think he’d be able to dominate after a few
turns.
Want to write to me
and tell me I’m doing a great job this week? Or
maybe just to tell me I suck or ask me a
question? Write to me at

Oh yeah, I also do Yu-Gi-Oh too.

Beast Boy, Garfield
Logan – Interesting concept here at work.
Whenever Beast Boy attacks or is attacked put a
+1ATK/ +1 DEF counter on him. Also to let you
know that this counter stays on Beast Boy when
he is stunned.
Constructed: 3/5 – Best use for Garfield is to
continuously use him in a Team attack setting to
keep his stats increased. Otherwise on Turn 5
you are looking at a measly 5/5 which is not
enough to really accomplish much. But with the
Titans he is best used as a Team attacker.
Limited: 2/5 – There are much better 3 drops to
use than this one. Don’t even bother here as I
said before that he will just get his clocked
clean as the game progresses into later turns.

Beast Boy is a
beast. 3/3 for a 3 looks small, but the first
time he attacks or is attacked, he's an
automatic 4/4. Combo him with cards like Tim
Drake <> Robin, Young Detective, and Teen Titans
Go! and he gets bigger and bigger. Flight makes
him even better, as he can keep attacking your
opponent's smaller drops, and getting bigger to
defend against their big guns. If you're playing
Teen Titans and aren't running 4 Beast Boys,
you've got a problem.
In Limited, there's no reason why you shouldn't
grab this card. No Loyalty requirement, tons of
plot twist support, and he's green. Okay, so the
last one isn't much of a reason, but how many do
you need? He's Beast Boy!

Beast Boy, Garfield
Logan --
When DC Origins first debuted, one of the most
popular and sought after cards (at least in my
area) was Beast Boy. "He gets so big", they
said, "so how can he be bad?" I didn't think he
was obscene, but I did think he was a great
card. Oh, how wrong we all were. Beast Boy is
not *that* good. In fact, he is a Silver
Medalist when it comes to Teen Titans 3-Drops,
just because Roy Harper takes the Gold. Don't
get me wrong, Beast Boy isn't awful, but with
all of the Overloads running around in the
environment, Beast Boy is already a liability.
On top of that, if people know how to play
against him, Beast Boy becomes an even bigger
liability. The truth is, you just keep stunning
him and forcing your opponent to choose: my
2-Drop or Beast Boy, my 4-Drop or Beast Boy, my
5-Drop or Beast Boy. Eventually, he has to go to
the KO pile.
In limited, I absolutely love Beast Boy. With or
without the presence of the uber-powerful Teen
Titans in limited, Beast Boy can become a house
that opponents have trouble dealing with. The
lack of Overload in the environment helps, too.
