Green Goblin –
Altered Ego
Hmmm….looks like we
are going to finish this week up with a card
that brings a slight twist to the game of versus
as we know it. Today we are going to look at
Green Goblin-Altered Ego.
Ok so it looks like
the guys at Upperdeck decided to throw some new
ideas at us and this is what they came up with.
By paying 13 endurance and activating this
character, you give each other player a 13
endurance loss. This makes Green Goblin a
double-edged sword. Personally swords are not
my thing…I think I will pass…..
What this guy does
provide is an awesome offensive power that gets
better and better since he also has flight and
range. (You better hope that if you are playing
with this guy that you get initiative.) With a
17 attack, this guy is only rivaled by
Juggernaut…wow! However, to make up for this,
Green Goblin is balanced out by an incredibly
low defense. Since his defense is a mere 11,
you will probably get stunned while attacking
unless you go after your opponent’s smaller
characters hidden in their support row.
Bottom line is
this: If you are going to run a SS deck, only
use this guy until you can get your hands on Dr.
Octopus – Doc Ock and try to stay away from
using this guy’s ability if you can. This is
because by turn 7, stunning your opponent’s
characters and keeping as much endurance as you
can is more important than taking a cheap shot.
Otherwise you will leave your opponent with an
attack step, possibly resulting in a lower
endurance on your behalf. Another reason to
stay away from this guy’s ability is those new
cards out there that negate a character’s
activate abilities. What are you going to do if
you pay the 13 endurance only to have your
ability negated? Cry…..
Ratings:
SS Constructed deck
- 2.0/5.0 …..Dr. Octopus is much better than
this card.
Limited – 2.5/5.0
…Having a powerhouse that has flight and range
on your side of the field on turn 7 could win
you the game, but having a loyalty factor keeps
me from giving this guy a better rating.
