Sneak Preview Weekend Tournaments Offer First Glimpse of New
DC Comics TCG Set

CARLSBAD, Calif. – Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE) is proud to offer comic book fans and trading card game (TCG) players an early look at Superman, Man of Steel, the upcoming expansion for the DC Comics TCG. The Sneak Preview Weekend, with tournaments occurring on the weekend of November 12–14, will give new players and veterans alike the opportunity to be among the first to play with brand-new cards. The set is comprised of 165 cards, which feature popular characters from the Superman universe, including Supergirl, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, and the Man of Steel.

Each participant in a Sneak Preview Sealed Pack event will receive five Superman, Man of Steel boosters and will then use those cards to construct a 30-card deck to play in the tournament. The top finishers will receive prizes, and participants will also receive a foil extended art promo card just for showing up to play. In addition, there will be side Booster Drafts that run each day, and more Sealed Pack flights (depending on player registration numbers). The Superman, Man of Steel expansion spotlights the many heroes and villains from the Superman universe, along with some new characters from teams introduced in the first set for the DC Comics TCG, DC Comics Origins. The DC Comics TCG brings the comic book universe to life with cards featuring skillful renderings of its ever-popular icons. Each card features original art by many of the biggest names in the industry.

The DC Comics TCG incorporates the new Vs. SystemÔ -- UDE’s game engine that represents epic Super HeroÔ battles in a TCG format. In Vs. System games, each player begins the game with his or her own team of DC Super HeroesÔ or DC Super VillainsÔ, and then tries to knock out all of his or her opponents. The game is specially designed to be played at every level of competition, from casual games to professional-level tournaments, and can be played in a variety of different formats with any number of players.

DC Comics TCG fans can get a better look at the new set and test their skills at the second $1 Million Pro Circuit stop, which will be held at Gen Con So Cal in Anaheim Friday, December 3 to Saturday, December 5. Players looking for opportunities to compete can also check out tournaments to be held throughout the upcoming year, ranging from local Pro Circuit Qualifiers to $10,000 Championships.
