Hello Pojo Fans,

Mimighoul Master ends the look into the Mimighoul arechetype and is the monster you like to see for your opponent’s turn.

Destruction protection in battle and by card effects is a great start to a Level 4 with generic Level 4 stats. Needing to control another Mimighoul is easy to do, and while Link monsters are heavily used in the game, the way the archetype Special Summons monsters to the opponent’s side of the field face-down ensures you will have this protection always active. Mimighoul RoTA upon summon, Master is going to get you to whichever Mimighoul you need to then Special Summon them to the other side of the field, enabling the protection.

With the archetype based on Flip Effects and with monsters Special Summoning themselves to the opponent’s field face-down, Master having the ability to trigger a flip on the opponent’s turn will help to activate your other Mimighoul monster effects during the opponent’s turn. As expected, the other Mimighoul monsters have effects that will hurt the opponent while giving you an advantage, as well as returning them to your field after the fact. Mimighoul Maker helps fast-track this whole archetype strategy as well as Special Summons Master who then gets you another monster from the Deck.

An archetype of many Types of monsters that can put themselves on either side of the board, Mimighoul Master can only use its flip once per opponent’s Main Phase, so you’ll need to play your monsters carefully to not leave any monsters for your opponent to truly benefit from.

Mimighoul week ends off with the only monster in the Main Deck with no FLIP effect, and arguably the boss of the whole archetype: Mimighoul Master.

Master is a Level 4 EARTH Zombie with 1800 ATK and 1200 DEF. Good stats on a Level 4, EARTH is still solid, but Zombie is only really good in dedicated Zombies. It cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects while the opponent controls any face-down monsters or you control a Mimighoul monster that isn’t Master, so protection while Dungeon is hopefully boosting this to 3000 ATK. The remaining effects are each a HOPT, first triggering on Normal or Special Summon to search for a Mimighoul monster from the Deck, besides Master. Yet another searcher in the Deck, not as important when Dungeon searches every turn, but it’s more consistency. The other effect is a Quick Effect in the opponent’s Main Phase to change a face-down Defense Position monster on the field to face-up Attack Position, which of course is made to trigger the Mimighoul’s negative effects onto the opponent, which is good for this Deck to have a way to force that, though they could always use more. Master is good for the Deck, though you don’t need to max on it. It has protection, so it’s hard to get rid of when it hits the field. The search is nice, but Dungeon already does that every turn. Finally, the flip-up effect is important to the Deck, but being a HOPT means you don’t need mulitples of these on the field, so Room can probably bounce other copies so you don’t clog the board after you summon more to search. Play however many you wish, but at least 1 is mandiatory for the Deck.

Ending the week is the current (even after Rage of the Abyss) official boss monster of the Mimighoul archetype, Mimighoul Master, a level 4 EARTH Zombie monster. While it’s not a Flip monster like most Mimighouls, it’s still incredibly accessible– between Mimighoul Dungeon (and by proxy Mimighoul Dragon) and the upcoming Mimighoul Throne, you should have very few issues getting to Master, even if it’s not a Flip monster you can get with Mimighoul Maker. Master’s stats, while decent for a level 4 monster, are still pretty horrible for a boss, with only 1800 attack and 1200 defense. Thankfully, Dungeon will push it up to a solid 3000 attack, so make sure Dungeon is always up.

While your opponent has any face-down monsters (IE any Mimighouls you’ve sent their way) or you control any other Mimighouls other than another Master, Master is immune to destruction by both card effects and by battle. It’s very neat protection that gives just a bit more pressure to your opponent to flip your Mimighouls, though realistically they’ll be flipping them anyway because of Dungeon’s floodgate. Other than this, Master has two hard once per turn effects, the first triggering if it’s Normal or Special Summoned to, what else, search any Mimighoul monster except itself. As if Mimighoul couldn’t search enough, it’s another layer of consistency, which is very welcome considering many of your combos will hinge on having multiple cards. Thankfully, technically this is a one-card combo since you can search Dragon and set it to your opponent’s field for instant disruption, though as always, you’ll want to grab whatever you need for your big plays. Lastly, Master has a Quick Effect only usable during your opponent’s Main Phase, flipping any face-down monster into face-up attack or defense position. Again, Dragon is the strongest and most reliable as a disruption, though Mimighoul Archfiend provides a handrip and Mimighoul Fairy gives a nasty floodgate that cheeses certain decks. Though an unusual take on the boss monster formula, Master does a lot to enable the deck’s plays while having horrible boss monster stats and a heavy reliance on its minions (like a lazy king!). Obviously, as a searcher you’ll run 3 copies anyway, but you’ll still want as many as possible when it inevitably dies. Long live the king!

+Quick effect enables disruptions and various techs
+Both a combo piece and a boss monster with decent staying power
-Terrible stats for a boss without Dungeon active
-Relies on face-down Mimighouls to be useful
