Mage Master on Naruto
Finding New Opponents
August 24, 2006
Well I’m back with my second article, I hope you enjoyed my
first article and found it to be helpful. This is what I’m
aiming for with this one too.
So you’ve conquered the players at your local card shop and
feel the need to take your game to the next level, don’t
know how? Well this article should be just the thing for
you.
Let’s face it, in a new game like Naruto finding new players
will always be a challenge for awhile. With not many people
knowing about the game or even able to find booster packs
and decks at this point in time there will be a rather
limited player base in your area. Once you’ve reached the
top of the ladder if you will, the game will most likely
start to become boring to you because you’re not being
challenged anymore. This in turn makes you become less
interested in the game which is not what this game needs at
this point in time.
The most obvious option would be to try to get some new
people to start playing the game as this helps the game as a
whole because at this stage the game needs all the players
it can get. It also helps you because if you teach the new
guys your “Tricks of the Trade” then they’ll develop into
good players who will hopefully give you a run for your
money in the not too distant future. This may backfire on
you however because students do have that knack for
surpassing their masters.
If that doesn’t work, one option would be to look in your
area to see if there are any other card shops that you could
go to. This will give you some new opponents to play against
and you might even be able to get in some trading for the
cards you need to strengthen your deck. This may only be a
temporary solution to your problems however because if you
get into the same position as you were before it will become
a vicious cycle. If you find new challenges at your new
venue then everything’s great and I wish you all luck in
your endeavours.
Another option would be to look around the Pojo Message
boards for people who are also looking for a challenge or
even a practice match. This is a great way to meet new
people and share tips and deck ideas. You can do this in
various ways; these include Instant Messaging programs and
Apprentice.
These can be tricky to download and install so if you are
having any trouble with them either read the help guides
that come with the programs or ask around on message boards
or similar websites. You’re sure to find someone who’ll be
willing to help you out. If all else fails you can even
email me if you’re really stuck. These programs are really
helpful in developing your game so they are worth any of the
problems you might encounter trying to set them up.
If none of these work you could always try to help the
people at your local card shop get better at the game. It
shouldn’t be as hard as trying to teach new players and in
most cases people will readily accept help on how to improve
their game. Remember not to act high and mighty when you are
offering your help to others because nine times out of ten
this will not go down well at all. Instead just act casually
and be as nice about it as you can.
Well there goes my second article, was it better than the
first? I don’t know, that’s why I rely on you guys the
readers to email your feedback to gd-fan06@hotmail.co.uk
that’s the only way I’ll know if you guys like my work and
what stuff you’d like to see me cover in future articles.
Until next time good luck and happy gaming.
