Jiraiya...Ya the special
little cousin of the perverted one. At least the
pervert is way more interesting.
Anywho, for its turn cost it is extremely good. It's
effect, meh not sooo much; it is perfect in a deck
based on growth, but then you wouldn't really need
to use his effect would you. 1 card from your hand
for a +1/+1....ummm how about kunai???? Yep that
pretty much works for me.
Excellent turn 6...but why do that when you can have
a turn 4 possibly 3 Jiraiya!?

Jiraiya [Releasing the
Seal]
Pros: Big Power
Make Ninja’s Fat
Cons: Limitations
I love this post-Thanksgiving theme we have going
on. Today we have Jiraiya [Releasing The Belt] I
mean Seal]. Ok, so his effect is only ok. If a ninja
with growth doesn’t have a growth coin on it discard
a card and give it a growth coin. This would be
awesome if three things were different. One, the
ninja doesn’t have to have growth. Two, the ninja
could have growth coins on it beforehand. Three, the
card went to your chakra area instead of the discard
pile. I like the old Toad Hermit but he’s so much
better in other forms and will be a lot better in
later sets.

The Review
N. Jolly here with the new Jiraiya, Releasing the
Seal. This is a card that with stats alone warrents
it's play in most lightning decks. But this one has
a neat little ability that allows it to let other
cards get more powerful by sacrificing cards from
your hand. The the only real problem is that there's
not enough targets for this card to use with right
now. Only Shikamaru (Smarty Pants) is really worth
the effort, and Lightning/Earth is really more of a
Taijutu element right now. Both cards you'd think to
use with this, Shino(True Ace in the Hole) and
Naruto(Fast Growth), don't get it unless they're
brought out through growth, so they don't get their
neat abilities. But this is a card that will be more
useful as the sets go on.

Jiraiya
Hello all Pojo faithful, and welcome to another week
of Card reviewin. Sorry for not postin yesterday,
but to make it short and sweet, Monday's Kakashi=very
good. Heh, now, movin on to more recent events,
today brings us to the newest COTD, one of the
Supers of the Curse of the Sand set, Jiraiya, N-127.
Jiraiya-Super Rare Lightning Ninja; Costs: 6-1; 7/2,
6/2; Leaf/Sannin/Male
[Releasing the Seal] At the beginning of your turn,
you can discard 1 of the cards in your hand to place
1 Growth coin on a Ninja with "Growth" if it does
not already have one.
The second (numerically) Jiraiya from the new set,
and it's just as playable as the other. Stats are
basically the same, and this Jiraiya is able to give
Growth to one of your in-play Ninjas, if it doesn't
have one. The only thing that it does is place the
+1/+1 coin on the selected Ninja, and that's only if
said Ninja wasn't brought out by Growth. Overall,
it's a decent cards, but I'd probably play it more
for the stats rather than the effect. Remember, by
using Jiraiya's (N-127) effect, you just place a
coin on a Ninja, you don't send it to the Chakra
area or anything of the like. If you're running a
deck that heavily relies on Growth to power up your
Ninjas, slip 1 of these in there, feel it out.
