Konohamaru [Hokage's
Grandson]
Pro:
-low cost
-good speed
Con:
-weak stats
This week we go over the team of kids way over their
heads. These is best stayed out of the battle, just
like in the show. I guess today's is somewhat better
General-
When he is out, you can lower the turn cost of all
jonnin level ninjas by one. This ability is amazing,
being able to sent out a Zabuza (for example) on
turn 4. You can easily take over the game after
that.
So with this game breaking effect, why isn't he
seeing more play lately? I'll tell you why. First of
all, it is a lighting card. Since lighting isn't
really too playable so far, the only option is to
splash some in, which may ruin the flow of the deck.
Second, this ninja is weak, so if you want him to
stay alive, you need others to block for him. By the
time you can play those jonnins, you may have lost
too much to recover. Lastly, and most importantly,
he will cost you one turn, which means you will be
behind. This is related to the second reason. If you
have limited jonnin, Konohamaru's effect won't help
you much. Another words, if you play him, play more
jonnins than you normally would, and not too much so
you depend on him.
The bottom line is you need to find a happy medium.
As for it being lighting, that won't be a problem in
the next set, since many great lighting cards will
be released.
Constructed: 3.75/5
Limited: 3.0/5

- Konohamaru [Hokage's
Grandson]
This is the first card in our week of Academy
Students. Probably the most played of them. Let's
look at his stats.
0/0 - 1/0 is standard for a disciple of Naruto,
stronger when hurt. Entry and Hand costs are
nothing, this is not shocking. Leaf | Ninja Academy
Student | Male and Ninjutsu Combat do nothing for
him. However he's mostly used for his effect. While
out (even injured) Jonin and Satoosa/Sannin/Village
Leader ninjas get a -1 Entrance cost. Now what does
this mean on it's face. Currently we have a fair
share of Jonin+ ninjas.
Turn 3 (Now playable on Turn 2)
Asuma and Orochimaru
Turn 4 (Now Turn 3)
Kakashi, Kurenai, Zabuza
Turn 5 (Now Turn 4)
Kakashi, Kakashi, Zabuza, Zabuza, Guy
Turn 6 (Now Turn 5)
Third Hokage, Third Hokage.
Now, on it's own it's a chump blocker that also
helps a few good ninjas get out quicker. The only
'combo' that can really be done with it is that
Entry Cost minus stacks. Meaning that with
Konohamaru and Small Act of Courage you can get out
Orochimaru or Asuma on Turn 1, which is harsh. Or
Konohamaru and Comat in Extreme Conditions to get
any of them out two turns earlier (Since CiEC makes
your turn count up one, Kakashi [Early Settlement]
can be deployed on Turn 3.
It's a simple and easy to use this effect. The other
Konohamaru is equally simple/easy to use, but he has
to be in a team, and late game that won't work so
well.
Konohamaru rating - 3/5 (2/5 for Student decks, as
Corps is better)
Constructed (Anything with 5+ Jonin or higher and a
lack of Turn 0 Nin) - 3.5/5
Limited - 3/5 (Not as good as you might not luck out
and get enough Jonins)
Art - 2/5 (Yeah, he's Konohamaru, that's it)

Konohamaru-
Sorry about missing last week, I completely fogot to
type them up on Sunday, and then when I tried to
type them up on Monday morning I got sidetracked.
I'm here for Ninja Academy week though!
Today we have Konohamaru[Hokage's Grandson], a Path
Lightning staple. He lets your Orochimaru come in
Turn 2, same with Asuma. He even lets Kakashi come
in turn 3/4! The drawback: his awful stats. Being a
0-drop L ninja, he can't have great stats, but 0/0
healthy is horrendous. And then if he gets injured,
you get a absolute monster: 1/0! His effect is
great, but his stats suck, simple as that. He also
comes from the current weakest element, but he can
be splashed in anything, so that dosen't matter.
DRAFT: Nice to pull, but you'll have to draw a Jonin
to make use. Still pretty okay: 2.5/5
CONSTRUCTED: Nice if you run Jonins: and everyone
does. Whether its Roach, Kaka, or Kurenai, you run
at least 1. 4/5.
ART:3/5, way better than KCF.
OVERALL:3.25/5
